Kid can jump over cars

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/25146/

Some kid can leap clear over compact cars. While this is entertaining enough, it's even better with Jrex's comment:

I bet he can even do it with a TV and a DVD
player under his arms

Wow I can't believe this is a news story I assumed it was going to be a video a guy made of himself jumping cars....

Re: Kid can jump over cars

On YouTube there's a video of Joey Gathright (Royals) doing the same thing. I guess that's less impressive though since he's a professional athlete.

Yah seriously. I've seen videos 2 other people doing this, and those were both in England. Who knows how many kids in the States can do it.

Also, that marketing guy must be sick at his job!

Just curious, but is the video you're talking about from those guys that do the whole parkour thing?

Re: Kid can jump over cars

why doesn't he jump over more than just one car in the video? or jump over other stuff?

Re: Kid can jump over cars

For the record, his ass grazed the roof of the car as he was jumping over it. He didn't quite clear it.

Re: Kid can jump over cars

World-class long jumpers can clear cars length-wise. Any D1 college long jumper (and probably many college high jumpers) can easily jump cars width-wise. There are probably 500 people in the US alone who can do what this kid did.

Almost sure I could do this on that car.

This video doesn't impress me that much. I remember seeing a video a few years ago of a white guy jumpng over a car and dunking a basketball. He did it in a dunk competition. Obviously he won.

it's probably from all the hoops he plays

Re: Kid can jump over cars

lol that was actually pretty sweet. 500 people in the US being able to do something makes it rare. There are probably 500 people who can do anything requiring lots of talent/ability/whatever. Also, huge lol @ the ebaums comments... I won't repeat them here but some of them are priceless

Re: Kid can jump over cars

i bet quite a few people could do this

Re: Kid can jump over cars

I bet most high school long jumpers/high jumpers/hurdlers could do this. Throw in a bunch of basketball players too. Cars aren't that tall and not all that wide. I suck at jumping and I could probably get close to clearing the hood of a car, get someone with some athletic abilities and this is far from newsworthy.

Come on. At least 4.5-5 feet high by 5 feet across-ish, right? That is far from "easy". It may be less athletically taxing than some things and hence many people may be able to develop the ability to do this, but it is unlikely that if you took a pool of 100 or 500 people that more than a couple of them would be able to do this right away.

It depends on the car. That one looks pretty short. Out of a pool of 100 or 500 track jumping athletes, I think quite a few could do it. Regular people, no.
