Event #39 - 50K HORSE
Looking forward to this one today. Any 2+2 degens lay down the 50k that I should be sweating?

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
It says - on the wsop homepage - that we can listen to an audio broadcast of the HORSE event. I have paid for a membership to watch video streaming of the final tables, but I don't know if that includes audio.
Does anybody know? |
Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
Any opinions about the number of players this year?
Just read this list on cardplayer btw, for this event: A Players (worth triple whatever they cash for) Chip Reese Phil Ivey Doyle Brunson Allen Cunningham Barry Greenstein B Players (worth double whatever they cash for) Howard Lederer Patrick Antonius Jennifer Harman Daniel Negreanu David Benyamine C Players (worth equal whatever they cash for) Johnny Chan Todd Brunson Chau Giang Ted Forrest Chris Ferguson |
Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
Is it already 50k horse time? I was wondering who the top player this year would be; very interested.

Daniel- 12:04 PM - "Less than 100 players it looks like. At my table so far Erick Lindgren Marco Traniello Spence Sun Nick Frangos" [/ QUOTE ] I was expecting more than 100 players. Double that even. Still early tho, perhaps alot of people arent showing up for the first couple levels. |
Re: # of runners
I've got a prop bet on the number of runners in this event.
Pokernews says there are "close to 100 players". But then they list 20 tables of players. Anyone there? |

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
Anyone want to kick in $50, name a player each and the first player to be eliminated wins his backer the cash ?
I'm going with John Duthie. I'll take action with anyone who posts within an hour of this post. |
Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
148 players this year vs 143 last year. Top 16 cash with top prize of $2,276,832 up from $1,784,640. 4% rake on this one.

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
In less than 3 hours of coverage, Pokernews has already mentioned twice that seven women are in the event.
Pretty much equals the number of hands they've reported on as well. |

[/ QUOTE ] Seriously, what kind of reporting is this? "The Magnificant Seven" Out of 148 entries in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. Event, there are a group of ladies we'll call "The Magnificant Seven." They are seven of the most beautiful and fabulous poker players on earth: - Jennifer Harman Traniello - Annie Duke - Cyndy Violette - Kristy Gazes - Isabelle Mercier - Jerri Thomas - Maureen Feduniak These ladies are like fine wine, they continue to get better with time. It's a pleasure to watch them. |
Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
Actually, they've mentioned 3 hands and only reported on two. Everything else is local color stuff.

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
I like these kind of stories better than hand histories:
[ QUOTE ] Chad Brown Upset Over Error After a dealer error that resulted in a river card having to be re-dealt, "Downtown" Chad Brown claimed the mistake cost him half the pot as his nut low was counterfeited. Eli Elezra and Cyndy Violette ended up chopping the pot, however it should be noted that the new river card would not have counterfeited an already pat nut-low. Whether Brown is unfamiliar with what constitutes a nut-low hand, or was just getting upset to prove his point remains to be seen, but what is for certain is that he is still a bit irritated. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Small Change Maybe, But it's Mine David Grey wants his change, Now! Evidently the dealer took a little too long to give Grey his change from the pot (about 2000) and he was making a point of it. Bari Sklar decided to be the peace-maker and induce an apology. He wasn't making much progress and Bill Gazes just wanted to move to another table rather than listen to the banter. Sam Farha took the opportunity to lean back in his chair and relax. "Come on David, just apologize to the dealer. It's only 2,000 anyway." "I don't care, it's my 2,000," Grey said. Back and forth, until Bill Gazes finally asked the floor if he could move to another table. The dealer continued to deal, and all settled back into playing their cards. Sklar mumbled, "it was only 2,000." Grey just ignored him and went on to play the next hand. [/ QUOTE ] |
Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
Grey would annoy me to hell and back after the times Ive seen him on HSP.

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
According to chip counts on pokernews Eli Elezra already has over 330k.

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
Read the Razz hand it's hilarious. Eli has 555x as a board some other guy had like 10KAx and some other rag hands. 4 way 110K pot.

Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
[ QUOTE ]
A 115,000 Chip Pot....in Razz!!!! This hand just before the break. Playing Razz. Eli Elezra has won the biggest pot of the tournament on one of the craziest hands our veteran reporter Tom Sexton has seen. After a ton of ram and jam action, Eli Elezra bets blind showing. {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades} The other players in the hand, and their boards: Tuan Le - {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} Chad Brown - {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} David Chiu - {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{10-Clubs} Eli had bet out blind, and when the other players who called did, Eli sweated his card, and jumped out of his seat "Deuce!!" he says elatedly. He flips up his down cards {2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}, and makes {2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades} as the other players muck dejectedly. Eli is all smiles. They counted the pot for us, cause we couldn't beleive it. It was indeed a $115,000 pot....Eli is up to over 300,000 chips, and the clear leader at this point. Note: The suits of the cards are not 100% accurate. [/ QUOTE ] way to funny to not quote in this thread. |

Limits are currently 1500/3000.
Average stack currently has 33 big bets. Can't see how this event will last five days. Expect many people to question this structure tomorrow. |
Re: Event #39 - 50K HORSE
Seems strange that the HORSE payouts are worse than last year, when the payouts have been flatter over 2006:
2006 2007 1 1.79m 2.28m 2 1.03m 1.28m 3 618k 852k 4 549k 586k 5 480k 444k 6 412k 337k 7 343k 259k 8 275k 188k 9 206k 131k 10 206k 131k 11 206k 117k 12 206k 117k 13 137k 103k 14 137k 103k 15 137k 89k 16 137k 89k |
