Question about a $1-2 NL black hole player
 

I've got a home game where there's one player, who i think we all agree is a good player, but also VERY lucky. it's a $1-2 game and usually he cashes for about $200-400.

Questions is this: everyone gets pissed off that he 'locks it down' when he's up and tightens up like a drum and never plays anything except AA KK QQ AK. people are arguing to ban him or impose rules like where he HAS to see 50% of flops, etc...

what to tell the ones who demand these rules of him?

i have an opinion but would like to hear your side. Thanks.

lol at your friends. You can't tell someone they must play more hands. I would just tell you to f-off.

yes. i haven't had a losing session since moving back east, and if someone told me to play more hands i'd tell him to end himself.

but it's funny because out of like a revolving group of 18 players or so there are only two or three good players and everyone else has no game.

the losers say 'its all for fun and no one should be winning so much so often'. LLOLOL. As I said, NO GAME.

here are the rules being imposed on the black hole, written by someone else:

A) If there is no pre-flop raise, He must call or raise with the
following hands:

- Any pair
- Any suited connector above 4-5
- Any suited Ace
- Any hand where both cards are 10 or higher (i.e. Q-J, A-10, etc.)

This applies even if he is under the gun.

B) If there is a pre-flop raise up to and including $20, He must call
or raise with the following hands:

- Any pair above 9s (i.e. pair of 10s or better)
- AK
- AQ

C) If there is a pre-flop raise and re-raise, He can fold anything.

D) Straddles are NOT considered raises, but restraddles are considered a
raise.

E) After the flop, He is free to fold any hand, even if he flopped
quads.

F) Another well-known -lockdown tactic is to take forever to
make a decision, so that fewer hands are played. If the pot is less
than $40, and someone calls clock on him and he fails to act within 30
seconds, he is in violation of this agreement.

In order to ensure that he follows these rules, he has agreed that
whenever he folds pre-flop, he will show everyone what he folded after
the hand is over. If he gets caught breaking the above rules, he must
pay everyone at the table $20, even if that means he goes into negative
territory.

This actually seems like a good situation for you and your friends. If the guy tightens up when he gets a bigger stack it should be much easy to put him on a hand. That said, just run him over. Raise his blind every chance.. if he calls continue bet and if you don't win the pot there re-evaluate.
Why ban a player if you KNOW how he is going to play? Adjust your game and bust him.

Wow, beating someone that always has the aces is easy - why WOULDN'T you want to know what someone has every hand he's in? Also, anyone that's "really lucky" in the long run has a lot more going for him than just luck - he may be playing lots of hands, but if he's winning most of the big pots he's in, he's doing something right.

lol at only playing premium hands in a homegame. I advice that you rise the stakes to 5kNL, he's probably up for it. When he arrives you you steal his money and kill him and split the money betwen you. Afterwards you'll be able to have a fun homegame the next couple of months and the beer will be sort of free since you're buying it for his $.

last game was 6 handed, $5,000+ on the table. deep stack poker. one donkey stuck for +$2K. only two winners. I took about 2K profit. Unreal.

$1100 of it was personal checks at the end of the night. and yes, they both cleared. ding ding!

anyway he got smoked tonight. down about 800. everyone air humped when he tried to use his suckout chasing tactics and bricked.
