I thought his line looked like a flopped set most likely. Does a flopped baby flush play like this?

Calling here can't be 'terrible' given that he's bluffing sometimes and we have good odds.

he led into pfr and bet river on a ridiculous board. you are putting him on a set?? im not sure what he can show up with that is really a bluff.

He checked the turn when the 4th spade hit, so he doesn't have a good flush.

A flopped set or two pair would probably lead the flop and check the turn.

On the river he knows I don't have a big flush either and thinks I'm folding almost everything with a board that scary.

The only hand I can see beating me is a flopped baby flush that might play like this.

yes, but by your logic you are expecting him to be bluffing a made hand a lot. and that doesnt happen enough on these boards.
