Event #12 $1500 6max - It just got cold in here...

End of the first level of the $1500 6max WSOP event.

My table is pretty weak, but I've been playing a little snug myself. Haven't really shown any out of line plays. I've opened my fair share, but nothing super crazy considering it's shorthanded.
I called a shortstack's utg AI w/ TT and lost to K2.
Next hand I call his AI w/ AQ and lose to TT.
I build it back up to around 3600 when this hand happens.

Blinds 25-50
Only other good player at the table who busted a lady, then got bad beated in another big pot, has 3400. I have 3600.

I open from CO w/ T7ss to 175
Good player in BB calls

Pot (375)
Flop is Td 7d 6s
He checks
I bet 300.
He checkraises me to 1k straight.

Decision point #1. I'm kinda lost here with the stacks.

Let's say I called.
He bets 1k more on the offsuit 4 turn.

I'm still lost.

I don't see many people CR the nuts on the flop, so I think it's more likely he has a good draw, JJ etc, maybe a set. I push the turn, if he has trips, catch the river . I also think he bets more than 1k on the turn with a set. Push.

shove flop, i usually don't give these short answers w/o much reasoning but i don't see how this is remotely close. highly possible he has tx, diamonds, or an overpair which if he is actually good he is going to instacall the shove with.

Y you have to shove here and I'm sorry you went broke, but top 2 = nuts in 6-max

Re: Event #12 $1500 6max - It just got cold in here...

I wrote a post that advocated just calling the flop on the grounds that on this board he has a big flush/straight draw a high enough percentage of the time that if a diamond or straight card other than a four hits on the turn, you can get away from the hand while giving him smaller odds to hit street by street. either way, on this turn, you're getting your $$ in.

Why would you want to call and let him see a cheap turn if he's drawing (and we have no idea to what)? That's so gross

Soss why are you lost? You have top 2 in a raised pot in position against a good player and you have 70 big blinds. This isn't hard, nor complicated, nor confusing. Go all in on flop, but since you didn't you hit the absolute most perfect turn card save maybe a 2 instead of a 4, SO GO ALL IN.

My guess is he was "lost" because he "lost" the hand

So I shoved and he showed me the nuts.

I assumed it was just a cooler, but just wanted to check. I really haven't played many tourney's lately and have been playing cash w/ 100+bb, so this gets a little different.

On a side note, the next hand blinds were 50-100 and I had 200 left.

At the end of level 2 I had 5600 and 15k at the end of level 3, so never give up.

The overbet C-R should rarely be the nuts here with these stacks, and no real history against a good player. I jam the flop, mostly b/c things just go downhill for our hand from here, the pot will be basically our stack, and if he is drawing, we don't know for sure what it is.

oh yeah, thought you might need this.

good push soss.

after watching "300" the morning of my first event, I felt the need to push at everything. not sure why.

Definitely a flop shove. Easy push with the stacks, the board, and the hand. Chalk it up to a cooler.

All in on the flop.

He priced himself in with a draw.

All in on the turn, no other bet makes sense.

Allin on flop, you don't really have that many chips.
