id say, high stakes volatility and writing ability in that order make blogs the most compelling but given that there exist so few real high stakes blogs, id say its the writers ability to tell a story thats most important

Shaniac's blog (www.shaniaconline.blogspot.com, I think) is far and away better than any of the ones touted above in this thread, at least from my five-minute skim. Most of the blogs above demonstrate poor writing and little insight, in my view.

Would PaulP's blog count? He doesn't play any more, but he writes a first-rate blog on various things. He's a terrific and precise writer. He's also controversial, in some measure because he is viciously mean to stupid or thoughtless posters -- in fact, he torched me quite hard the first time I posted in a thread of his many years ago --but his blog is among the best anywhere. Some of his poker strategy thoughts are blazingly useful (for example, page through his archives where he describes hands and gives you a quiz as to what he's holding -- a really useful thought exercise).

My blog, in contrast, sucks.
