I don't like it because even if he is pushing 22+,A8s+,K9s+,QTs+,JTs,A9o+,KTo+,QJo the call is slightly -ev.

This was a range that I thought was pretty accurate given the table dynamics.

Re: A7o from MP deep in the Stars 320

Ok after playing with some numbers the call is fine against a wide range, but you really need a read that he IS pushing that wide range, because although you may have been very actice and he SHOULD be pushing wide, tons of players don't. This reminds me of a point actionjeff made in HSNL a few weeks ago...this is either a spot where he's shoving tons of hands or it isn't, so either the call is mandatory or it's horrible and you can't really justify it vs. a normal pushing range for the average villian. You need to have a good reason to believe he's shoving wide besides the fact that you've been opening a lot to call.

Re: A7o from MP deep in the Stars 320

for anyone else that wants to play with pokerstove, you need to be like 41% for the call to be cEV breakeven.

But 36% equity isn't enough here?

If i added right, there's 35455 in the pot and we have to call 24530, or 1.44537:1 odds, so we need 40.8936% equity to breakeven.

Even against a really loose range we don't have enough equity

Re: A7o from MP deep in the Stars 320

I thought there was the definite added bonus of getting to show down my hand and getting people to stop restealing on me too. It's slightly -cEV given the range that I posted but I did it in the heat of the moment and thought it was fine. Also, it really really really felt like in the moment that he was shoving light.

ActionJeff also once said: "On stars I realized you just have to stop looking for spots to raise and just raise. And then call when they reraise."

Re: A7o from MP deep in the Stars 320

right, against normal push ranges you can't call. against someone who capable of pure resteals though you have to call.

Yea I agree, and I'm not sure what I would have done in the heat of the moment. But that range is farrr from a normal range. Most people's ranges would be muchhh tighter. Also, even if villain is tired of us raising and is pushing light, I doubt he really ever shows up with complete air here.

Re: A7o from MP deep in the Stars 320

I think it's more of a call if the steal/re-steal positions were more standard (i.e., BTN vs. BB or CO vs. SB, etc.), but given this is like MP vs CO, I doubt his range is as wide as you'd want it to be to make this call +EV.

I say chuck the hand. You can call somewhat lighter given that you've been active, but this is just way too light.

Re: A7o from MP deep in the Stars 320

LOL obviously I did not play this hand, I would never be caught playing a hand so [censored] terribly!

The range you gave is pretty lol. The villian in this hand had been super tight until the last round, when he restole once with no showdown.

The fact that you think this guy is reshoving light after you open from EMP is embarrassing. His range is probably something like AJ+ KQ 77+ and that range is VERY LIBERAL.

This is hilarious, it's really not close. Your call range is like AJ+ 88+ or something like that.

Despite the ABSOLUTELY RETARDED RANGE that you gave him, your call is still massively -EV. Your arguement of the image is retarded. In fact, it makes people more likely to resteal liberally and shove for value against you, you get much less respect.

Edit: The end of this post was completely unnecessary and any more crap like that in HS MTT won't be tolerated.

I edited JamesRea's original post that included this picture that he said was Gobbo:

http://www.gothamist.com/attachments...2_staypuft.jpg

and then he reedited the post to what you see. I've permanently banned him for it. Also, he has the same IP address as AeJones last post so he's either a roommate of Ae or Ae himself I'm not sure.

Here is the end of the Ae post I edited:

In closing, you're terrible and there is no proof whatsovever that you're a competent poker player. I can promise you that ANYONE on this forum who is any good at poker knows that you're just a sick luckbox, with no real resemblance of thought process.

Hey, maybe one day I'll luck box my way into second place and 1m dollars (where everyone at the table thinks I'm terrible too- If I'm lucky!). But maybe I won't, and you couldn't pay me 1m dollars to be Gobbo anyways!

Also, I really think this is just Aejones covering his tracks. He obviously either posted this himself or watched his roommate post it.

haha, can i say, my favorite part of nearly all threads like this is:

omg you are such a retard, his range is clearly "blah blah"

when in the hand in question the opponent showed down a hand not included in "blah blah."
