angle at cp
this is regarding a hand i recently posted: i raised 66, sb/bb call, 844 flop sb/bb check, i bet sb calls... turn 3, sb c/r me and i call, river he smoke bets, i call when river is an ace...
as i wait to see his hand he says 'i've got the nut'.... and pauses for a bit waiting (as if for me to throw mine away)... i was thinking about how the hand played out before i mucked my hand since he hasnt tabled his yet anyway, and he finally after sitting there for a while says 'nut...nut no pair' and sheepishly shows KQ... a few of the regulars give dirty looks and one said something under his breath and then the villain says 'what, i thought he didnt have a pair, so i thought i had the nuts' - i didnt say anything, i finished my session and thought about it, but i was curious what others take on this is... especially since in the 30 game most players just muck when you tell them what you have without seeing it if you have played with each other a bit... any thoughts helpful |
Re: angle at cp
he's probably a scumbag. not for sure, but probably.
"most players just muck when you tell them what you have without seeing it" absolutely no reason to do this. |
Re: angle at cp
pm me his name. and don't ever, ever, ever muck without seeing his hand unless you have a rapport with the player.
|
Re: angle at cp
Occassionally I bet on the end with the nut low or something resembling the nut low or something that isn't the nut low but nonetheless is playing the board. When I get called in these situations I just muck and act disgusted with myself.

Re: angle at cp
villain sounds like al (40's, looks Filipino with a mustache, some times wears sunglasses). he mostly plays 15/30 but once in awhile will play 30/60. this guy has done that to me before, he's garbage, never trust what he says.

Re: angle at cp
don't ever ever muck until you get shown a winning hand... you're probably a nice guy but you shouldn't count on others to be like you...

[/ QUOTE ] This is def. an Al move. You gotta protect your hand, bud. I get really annoyed when players announce their hand and pause before tabling it. Wtf r they waiting on? Some are so stupid that they misread their own hand so you need to wait just based on that possibility, nevermind the angle-shot. |
Re: angle at cp
Protect your hand. Move to LC, BBV, or B&M plz.

Guys who do this are never good players and it's my opinion most of 'em are prime candidates for tilt. You need to taunt him unmercifully. Tell him he's a loser and you're going to take all his money and spend it on naked pictures of his sister. |

Re: angle at cp
The best way to avoid this is by doing what you should do on every hand. Make the players in the pot roll when they're suppossed too.
When a guy says "I've got....." just say "I called you. Show the hand please." I had a NL hand where a guy had pushed AI on me on the turn and I had the nuts on the river. I waited for him to roll first. I got a look from one of the players and I said to the guy next to me "I didn't slow roll the guy. Even if I have the nuts, I called him so he shows first. As soon as he does, I do. There's a difference." I want to see what guys are pushing on / raising with. Whether I'm in the hand or not. You roll the winner, the guy mucks without showing and you miss info. OTOH, if a guy taps the table and says "You're good", I put a tip on my cards like I've won and wait for the pot. If I have to show to win, then he either mucks or shows. His choice. |

Pretty douchey. [/ QUOTE ] You have to be kidding. You're 1000% wrong if you think wanting guys to roll in the order they should is douchey. What's douchey is when guy's abuse the rule and ask to see a calling hand just to see what he called with. They don't think there's any collusion, just wonder. BTW - ever been slow rolled by a guy who said "You're good? |

sorry don't wanna start a fight but this was my first reaction as well [/ QUOTE ] Nothing to fight about. Look at what the guy quoted from me. Why is wanting the aggressor to roll his hand in the order he should so outrageous? Fill me in here. |
