Knocked Up
Currently has a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Anyone seen this yet? I can't wait... if it's half as funny as 40YOV, it should be awesome. |
Re: Knocked Up
Cant wait for this or Superbad.

Re: Knocked Up
i was really on the fence until i saw this promo video:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x23...ed-from-knocke and the metacritic score: 86 and this quote from A.O. Scott: "Rather than being afraid of commitment, Ben appears fascinated by the idea, as if it were a distant land chronicled in legend and song." now i'm actually kind of excited to see it. |
Re: Knocked Up
I wouldn't have thought Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen could pull it off. Never envisioned them as lead actors. But hey I'm always up for a good comedy. Looking forward to it!
Keep your eye open for Allison's nieces. Apparently they are the director's daughters. Oh and the "reliable" Paul Rudd is in this one! Awesome. Eye candy for us girls |
Re: Knocked Up
Paul Rudd has long been the best thing in every film he's in. Ever since Clueless, for crying out loud.

Re: Knocked Up
No spoiler review:
Cute movie, not as good as 40YO Virgin, but still worth seeing. Some very funny, but also insightful moments. Note: You'll find the movie a lot funnier if you've had kids and/or been in a serious relationship. Teen guys are going to have trouble relating to this, IMHO. This is truly an adult comedy, where adult means you've had some life experience. So it's great for old fart married couples who need to get away from the rugrats for a few hours. |
Re: Knocked Up
just saw it...I liked it a lot...very funny and touching at the same time. I also wondered whether Heigle and Rogan could carry a movie, but they are both pretty great...they also have some wonderful support by Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann. In fact, I think Leslie Mann is absolutely adorable. There's a great scene where she castigates a club doorman for not letting her and her pregnant sister in because she's old."

Re: Knocked Up
That doorman is really familiar. Where have I seen him before?
|
Re: Knocked Up
I just went and saw it. Very good...I laughed a whole lot. I think that you enjoy it the more you have been in relationships and been down the roads of adulthood. It is absolutely an adult movie, but it is very well done. The only bad thing is that it is not quite as funny as 40-Year-Old Virgin, but really, few things are.

Re: Knocked Up
I LOVED this. I wont compare it to 40 YOV, as that got funnier on repeat viewings, but i can see this standing up next to it. Paul Rudd and John Cusack need to make a movie together.

Re: Knocked Up
I finally heard some negative reviews about this flick, saying the same sort of things the commercial made it look like the film was about.
|
Re: Knocked Up
The jokes weren't as constant and over-the-top as I'd expected, but a) they were still great, b) I'm sure the dvd will have an extended version with dozens of minutes of improv goofiness, and c) the movie worked extremely well, and every one of the actors was capable of capable of pulling off more than just jokes, anyway.
Every trailer in front of this was for a comedy, and after Knocked Up, I'm even less interested in them than I was before (Superbad excluded). |
Re: Knocked Up
I'm looking forward to this. Reviewers I have some respect for are saying it's pretty good. Better than the 40 year old virgin.
|
Re: Knocked Up
It's easily the funniest movie I've seen in a very long time. It's awesome.
|
Re: Knocked Up
Not as funny as I thought it would be. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great.
40 yr old virgin, same director/writer, was a lot more hilarious than this movie. |
Re: Knocked Up
I am almost middle-aged, been married twice, and I thought this movie really, really sucked with very little good humour (aside from 1 scene, which I won't spoil). I just found it incredibly preachy.

Re: Knocked Up
Really? Crap. I loved 40 Yr Old Virgin and was looking forward to this one. I'm really hoping that you're wrong.

Re: Knocked Up
Definitely not better than 40 year old virgin, but it was still better than most comedies. The whole shrooms saga from the show to the chairs was hilarious.

Re: Knocked Up
Everyone come back in nine months and tell us if you're still glad you saw this movie.
