MMA : Who wins this Fight?

Scenario: 2 fighters are randomly chosen to fight as a team. Assume they each weigh ~155lbs

edit: Assume they're mediocre lightweight UFC fighters. So not including guys like BJ Penn caliber.

They are given no time to prepare or make a strategy other than they know that they are supposed to work as a team against

http://www.freewebs.com/fedorthefutu...melianenko.jpg

Pride Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko. Assume he weighs ~230lbs and knows these guys fight in the lightweight division.

310lbs will win against 230 in this case.

Klompy, 100% of the time in both scenarios?

kerowo, it should be. I think handicap matches would be pretty entertaining

Not to be nitty, but in the fight under Pride rules, if one of the smaller fighters is knocked out are they both done for the fight or is it 1 on 1?

It probably should have gone in Sporting Events then.

If the two small guys have combat experience in the military they'll both destroy Fedor anywhere the fight is held. Teamwork is key. Hyena's always beat one large lion.

yeah can't see fedor winning this, he might make it more interesting than we're thinking but no way for him to win without a huge stroke of luck.

I was thinking he would focus a barrage on one of the guys and eat strikes from the second guy.. hopefully taking the one down somewhat quickly and getting it 1 on 1. Even a damaged fedor is a heavy favorite against just one.

-reach advantage
-strikes from lightweights wouldn't damage anywhere close to what he's used to/capable of taking

Im not sure how huge of a shock it would be if Fedor won. All he has to do is KO one of them really, since he would be a big fav or over just 1 LW.

Granted I think the two little guys win more often then not. But given the above example of getting a hold of one of them early or simply just using reach and size to land a big punch on one of them, its possible he could win.

Re: MMA : Who wins this Fight?

The problem is that one guy just needs to engage Fedor long enough for another to soccer kick him in the head a few times. A lightweight is going to be significantly faster. If Fedor goes for any kind of takedown / submission he is going to get kicked in the face and knocked out. If he stands up, one guy has a decent chance to shoot in and knock him down. It would take a significant failure on the part of the smaller guys to let him win.

What if the 2 lightweights are tied together by some means. Say they are handcuffed together.

all fedor has to do is get in 1 lucky shot on one of them and then it's a 1 v 1 fight where he basically wins.

Actually, this might be one of the worst instances of proclaiming a thread the "worst thread ever." The OP is certainly somewhat weak, but not even one of the top ten worst threads today, much less ever. Moron.

He is far and away the best fighter in the world. That being said he loses 99% of the time to any 2 fighters in professional MMA. Stupid thread, should be moved to sporting events.

Considering MMA isn't old then-and fights were on much lower skill levels than before then you're obviously right.

Unless of course you're counting old school Vale Tudo stuff like what Helio Gracie, Valdemar Santana and Kimura used to do in which case, you're probably still right.

I think Sylar takes down a 2 handcuffed chimps at least 80% of the time.

Re: MMA : Who wins this Fight?

I remember reading somewhere that two people fighting together who aren't trained to fight together actually makes it easier for one person to take them, because they won't coordinate their efforts effectively and will get in each others way. However I'm not sure how much that would apply to trained fighters here.

edit: so I think fedor would have a chance

Pound for pound, chimps would decimate an average person, even trained athletes (traditional sports).

Fedor has a huge weight advantage, and a considerable advantage in training. 100lb chimp wouldn't stand a chance.

Um, this has been covered in the Sklansky forum. The chimp would own Fedor.

An adult chimp would crush Fedor.
