what is the highest VPIP for a consistent winning player you\'ve seen?
Im talking about limit holdem. I see one guy on party who is 65% and plays every night and I'm sure he's a winning player although it is possible that he is lucky only when i'm at his table, I doubt it. I think he's a very good player.
Can someone tell me the origin of rickroll? I don't read the boards for a few weeks and when I come back, i get rickrolled 10 times already. |
Do not worry so much about how he does when you are NOT there.

1. You entirely missed the point of my post.
2. What I think is that you have the makings of a fish, if your worry is how this guy does, but not how he does when you are at the table. |

limit iz gay

Re: Do not worry so much about how he does when you are NOT there.
Pretty sure there are some decent winning players in the VP-100 range.
DUCY??? |
Re: Do not worry so much about how he does when you are NOT there.
Are you talking full table or 6-max? Huge difference.

Re: what is the highest VPIP for a consistent winning player you\'ve s
If you're bouncing around a lot of 6-max tables that are playing only 5-handed or 4-handed it isn't too difficult to imagine.
And it isn't hard to be 'stuck' on a table with only 4 or 5 players for a significant stretch. |

This guy that I play against is mid 60 vpip and is there pretty well every nite for a months playing 15-30. He creates action at the table so I like playing at his table. From what I can tell , he is a solid player, very good at hand reading. |

Can you answer my question: DO you believe anyone can have a VPIP of 65% and be a long term winner? |

Zero. Nada. |

Re: Do not worry so much about how he does when you are NOT there.
and what do u think is the highest VPIP one can have and be a consitent winner at mid limit HE 6max.
|
Re: Do not worry so much about how he does when you are NOT there.
It's been a while since I've played limit, but isn't standard deviation something like 15-20 BB/ 100 hands? While not likely, it's hardly unusual for a -1BB/100 loser to break even or turn a small profit over a sample as large as 100,000 hands. So in short: more hands than you could possibly have datamined

Re: Do not worry so much about how he does when you are NOT there.
there was some guy on 2+2 who play $200NL, posted his stats, and he was something like 7PTBB/100 over 50,000 hands playing 60/20. don't remember who though.

[/ QUOTE ] i'd be shocked if u could even find a 30K sample where this guy comes out in the black. edit: but all that would do is shock me; as poster above pointed out, the # of hands you'd need for conclusive evidence of long-term winning is in the hundreds of thousands if not millions. |

[/ QUOTE ] although theoretically this may be true, realistically, I think it would take much much less hands to convince me. I play with this guy almost everynite and its not like he had one or 2 huge nights and is losing otherwise. He consistently wins and by his post flop play, I think he is at the very least, a break even player. |
Re: Do not worry so much about how he does when you are NOT there.
Why dont you just ask him what his winrate is
