TheWell: DLM

A stranger is being shown around a village that he has just become part of. He is shown a well and his guide says "On any day except tuesday, you can shout any question down that well and you'll be told the answer" . The man seems pretty impressed, and so he shouts down: Why not on tuesday? and the voice from in the well shouts back: Because on tuesday, its your day in the well .

Had a few requests for this and now have the time to do it. Have any ?s for a low limit grinder and youd like a poorly written response go ahead and ask.

Typical first question. How did you get your start? ...
How many deposits?
Initial stakes?
When did you start taking it seriously?

What stakes?

How many hands a day?

How many days you play a week?

How much you make in rakeback a month?

What sites do you play at?

What is your winrate over X hands with X being total hands played.

I started in poker at the age of 18, i was a total fish and probably lost a grand before quiting online poker for a long time. since then id donk around at local tournaments never really knowing what i was doin. I then got a hold of a copy of small stakes hold em in may of last year and started grinding limit games at paradise poker. i turned 20 into 2k. I was also grinding 10/20 at the local casino with a fake id. I got busted at the casino and had to pay for a lawyer and fines and such which depleted alot of that bankroll. I then grinded it back up to 3k and moved up to 2/4 limit. I hit a sick downswing and lost everything but 300 dollars since i refused to move down. At that point i was sick of limit. In november of last year i picked up a copy of nltap and started grinding the 10nl tables. ive moved up all the way to nl400 but didnt do well there and then when i went back down to nl200 i ran worse that you could ever imagine, now im grinding nl100 for the time being proffesionally and can comfortably move up to nl200 whenver i want. I feel that its cursed for me lol so im in no hurry.

The only deposits i made was when i was a fish back in the day, and my initial 20, but variance could very well have eaten up that 20 if i wasnt lucky.

I started taking this seriously a few weeks ago since i now have to produce results to pay for things

my vpip ranges from 11-14 depending on cicumstances. my aggression changes cause i am still tweaking my game and learning things about the regs i play with, i accually play differently on different days for no particualar reason.

I now play 9-12 tables at once

Ive been bad about playing hands, i just make sure that i play enough to cash atleast a 1500 bonus a month however you want to alocate it.

I play at pokerstars

My winrate since febuary(when i got poker tracker) is about 2ptbb/100. over about 200k hands total at all limits. but its too bad that a chunk was taken at my journey to nl400.

2. I have the same problem with 400 NL as well. I'm a consistent winner at 200 NL but when i take shots at 400 NL I get crushed. Are you going to stay at 200 NL or will you keep taking shots at higher limits? Its a question of challenging and improving your game vs. the dolla dolla billz.

I 12-13 table myself and i was wondering how many buy ins before you'd feel comfortable with before you take a shot at moving up. Rule of thumb is generally 20 buy ins but that isn't for multi tabling.

How high do you play live?

The fish concentration drops as the stakes go up. I think the drop is much more pronounced in full ring because the action junkies that have the means to play higher are drawn to short handed games. Would you agree or disagree?

Do you think there is more collusion in the mid-higher stakes full ring than short handed?

Do you only play full ring and have you taken shots at the higher 6 max games?

Thanks

With most ladies my age its a game, and i play it well. Theres nothing like baggins a lady who is out of your league.

Ive been trying to get this to work for a minute, whenver i try to use ptracker or poker grapher to access my whole database if freezez! i think the oldest part of my database is corrupted or i have a virus, ill keep working on it.

tilt..... ahh tilt... well lately ive gottan much better at it but i can say that tilt has easily cost me 5 gs or so. You just have to play some sort of mind game withyourself so that you can avoid it as much as possible.

Im not very good with politics but id say i kinda like the poker world right now and am kinda scared of them regualting it since the rake could be uped or any number of things could go wrong for a pro. Im doing good right now and hope things dont get worse.

as a pro id say atleast 40 probably more. you have to be able to look at the money you are playing with and see it as a tool to make more money not money itself, if you think any other way youll tilt easily.

I dont really care who im playing, i dont look as my opponents as tuff, alot of them play very well in some situations and very poorly in others. On some days they have my number and some days i have there's. Shazmeister at 200nl stuck out to me as a great player. Alot of regs here know me well enough to [censored] me around a bit when they want to, some of thenl100 regs try to get cute with me so ill just dropp ai's on them to put them back in line wether im bluffing or what not.

What do you think the most important concept(s) in Full Ring poker is(are)?

Pot control, manipulating opponents into reading your hand wrong.

ive only played 10/20 limit live and i was very good at it. Id say there are so many more fish and the profits at 6 max must be nice, but im too tilt prone to let regular 10,20,30 buy in downswings into my life to often.

I think collusion does exist and is also why i probably wont ever move up to high playing online unless is hu,

I have played 1k 6max of course, a couple hundred hands, im up or down like 200 bucks there. I really think that the high stakes guys arent that much better than alot of us, they have just mastered the art of analyzing somone elses thought process.

If i ever win a donakment and have a huge cash injection i wouldnt mind switching to 6max since i wont have to worry if i dont make money for a month or two in case i run bad, I speak to a high stakes 6max hu pro regularly from two plus two and hes been down 70 buy ins at a mix of hu/6max.

2. Why do you like to buy guns?

cause i Like them. I dont really have any hobbies besides shooting guns and sporatically smokings tons of dro nuggets.

3. Why am I so good at pwning you at HU sngs?

Cause you are better at HU than me probably, and you are a luckbox

4. When is the next time you will take at shot at NL1000?

Whenever i play 1k its not really taking a shot like i plan to play it forever even if i run hot, i just get squirly sometimes and like to play, and if theres a fish which there always is ill stay. Alot of these guys are tourney donks who dont understand cash that well.
