The official PAYTRU thread

There seems to be a number of queries each day about PayTru and its usefulness.

In order that new readers don't have to keep asking the same questions, and regular readers don't have to keep repeating themselves, this thread is here to try to gather everything together under one roof.

If you have questions, answers or comments about PayTru, please make them here from now on. Any other new threads are likely to be locked or deleted. If you lose track of where the thread is in the forum, there is a link to it in the Neteller, etc, sticky.

Thank you for your help in reducing some of the "noise" created when there are too many duplicate threads, and for improving readability in the Zoo.

The payTru FAQ:

Read it. Really. It answers questions.

What are the load maximums on these cards?

From the payTru FAQ:

Your prepaid VisaŽ cards have a limit of $4999.00 per registered card. You may load up to $3000.00 per day (less any applicable fees) onto your payTru card using your Visa credit card that has been Verified by Visa on this website.

Re: The official PAYTRU thread

Does Paytru work on any other sites?

Yes and no. The ecard will not work elsewhere:

Thank you for contacting us here at PayTru. We apologize that your transactions to xxxx are being declined. However, your PayTru card is a pre-paid Visa debit card and can not be used for gaming transactions. Your card can be used at the merchant site in which you set up your PayTru account, at PLUS atms, for Point of Sales transactions and any ATM where Visa is accepted.

Regards,
Rhonda
PayTru Customer Service

However, since this email was sent, users have confirmed that they can use the Paytru Visa on other sites including Full Tilt and UB, but you MUST have physical possession of the card in order to have the correct CVV code.

"How long does it take once I load the money on the paytru account screen until I can put it onto Stars?"

The funds are instantly available for deposit into a site.

"How do I withdraw funds from an ATM machine?

Blahblahblahblah....... Your Visa card has a limit of $500 dollars per day on withdraws."

This is not accurate, I've taken out $1500 in a day, just have to use the card 3 seperate times.

Thats good news about the withdrawals.

My one question, does it REALLY work at FTP?

If so, are you then able to put the money back on the card from FTP?

Thanks.

Re: The official PAYTRU thread

Had a bit of trouble at first with the PayTru card.

I have all of my bills sent to a PO box which is different from the address on my license. I spoke with a very nice guy that spoke perfect english at PS support. He cleared up which address I needed to use but needed a bill showing my PO box and my name. I took a screenshot while logged into my power bill and had it to him in about a minute.

He said it would take 15-30 minutes and he would call me back. It took 5 minutes, I logged back into the PayTru account, deposited and had the money in my stars account less than a minute later. If withdraws are this easy I will be very very pleased.

NOTE: I had a little trouble using firefox and had to retry it with IE7. worked fine after that.

I can go into my credit union and get a "cash advance" from my National City "credit card" (different banks) and my credit union charges no fees. They also said "since we advertise Mastercard/Visa, we are required by our agreements to offer this service to ANYONE, including non-credit union customers."

Can I use the PayTru card to deposit directly into my checking account? And would there be any fees from PayTru?

I've been using paytru lately. seems to work quite well. i just withdraw 500 a day from the ATM, walk 30 feet to the teller and deposit it. i've used bank of america and only been charged 2.50 total fees on each withdrawal, so that's just 0.5%.

i don't make more than 500 a day playing poker on average, so this is fine for me. but a few times i have tried withdrawing more than 500 at a shot, and it has worked fine.

Re: The official PAYTRU thread

I tried to use the balance on my PayTru card today to pay for a $1200 purchase and was declined. After talking to a fairly clueless CS person (who obviously works for a third party) she claims that the card has a $1k per day limit on purchases - I can find no reference to this in the FAQ or the Terms of Service documents on the PayTru site. Has anyone had any success with $1k plus visa purchases using your paytru card?

Took about 40 hours for my winnings to hit the card last time I cashed out. That was on a weekend too, so even though they say to give it 72 business hours it usually ends up being way less than that.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but do you sign up for the card through some link on Stars or the actual Paytru website? I see the link to the more info about it, but I see no signup link. Also, am I paying the 49.95 for the card or is Stars picking it up?

I'm not sure if Paytru is available to all Stars' players(and if not I don't know why not, I think it may still be in the trial stage), however one can go to the cashier page and select the Visa prepaid option and signup thru Stars at no cost to you. For me it was quick and easy, my card only took a week to arrive.

Nice how a recording says Paytru "may" (translation: "will") charge you $2.50 to speak to customer service if you call them. My T&C's say the charge is $0.00.

Re: The official PAYTRU thread

I ran into an odd problem with PayTru. I tried to make an online purchase for a little over three hundred dollars, only a fraction of the amount on my PT card. The transaction was declined. I was puzzled but thought maybe some merchants just don't take it. Then the nightmare ...

I logged into my PT account and saw that the amount had been debited. I called the merchant (BTW extremely trustworthy), explained the situation, and asked why my payment had not been reflected. They stated that no payment had been received. The knowledgeable rep also explained that when payments don't complete, the "batch" is returned to the visa issuer and accounts are normally credited within 24 hours.

Still trying to get it resolved with PT, so be careful when using it for anything other than ATM's.
