Wagerline survivor contest

http://www.wagerline.com/sportsconte...aderboard.aspx

Wagerline has a free contest where they give away $100,000 if you can pick 21 against the spread in a row. Someone is at #20 and is picking for the $100k. He has until 4/24 to pick.

What game would you pick prior to that data ATS?

My best streak is 5.

Re: Wagerline survivor contest

Sucks they limit the games you can pick, but I guess thats how they make it so damn hard keeping odds between like -130 to +130 or something. He should pick a random Arena Football game and let it ride!

I imagine he would be hedging, no?

Unless he thinks wagerline might stiff him for the 100K

Re: Wagerline survivor contest

Try to find at least a zero cent arb for sure.

Re: Wagerline survivor contest

I have a streak of 4 going and I will pick the BoSox today against the skankees. A-rod's luck has run out.

Freightdog has not picked yet, but I would imagine that this weekend would provide enough choices.

Re: Wagerline survivor contest

On further thought, it doesn't need to be an arb. Simply pick the team with the best odds of winning according to the market for the Wagerline contest and then hedge by betting the underdog. Should lock in over 50k of profit.

odds this guys is currently scrambling to try and get enough money online to hedge this?

rush66 04-20-2007 02:55 PM

Re: Wagerline survivor contest

Thats exactly what I was thinking...how the hell I would come up with like 50g's and get it online in time.

Re: Wagerline survivor contest

to heck with getting it online, for 100k just go to vegas and hedge it there.

God hates the skankees. My streak is now 5 in a row. Freightdog still has not picked.

Re: Wagerline survivor contest

it looks like this guy might be letting it ride. his 21st is pending, he chose the under in the oakland baltimore game, instead of one of the moneylines which would have been best for hedging.

there's also a good chance he doesn't have 50K available so he's hedging a bit but still makes much more if his wagerline pick wins, and so he's going with what he thinks is the best choice instead of the biggest ML fav, but hopefully he's going for all or nothing.

What do you think of that game? He picked the under 8.5

rush66 04-23-2007 10:37 AM

Re: Wagerline survivor contest

I know one thing...a ton of people are following him. 83% on the under earlier, but to 75% now. I dont have an opinion on it.

are there certain restrictions on games/bet types you can do? I mean...a total in baseball wouldn't exactly be the smartest of bets when you can win 100k imo.

Re: Wagerline survivor contest

I just entered the contest...I had no idea it was free. Not really sure what wagerline.com is all about, seems like they are giving away a lot of free money. Also, looks like someone got the 21 in a row a few years ago. Hope I win!

the guy won his 21st but magically the image on the Survivor Main page is now $10,000 to win. I wonder if this guy got the shaft and they changed the prize right before he won his 21st?

[/ QUOTE ]After someone wins in 2007, the prize drops down to 10k for the rest of the year. So he won the 100k, I'm not sure if they're reliable and he'll actually get it or not though. I guess only time will tell.

Re: Wagerline survivor contest

Wagerline does the contests for the pub that it brings, plus, it gives novices a way to track bets. I have a pretty solid 55% win ratio, which is over a couple hundred events. Without playing the contests, I would not have any idea how my capping really is as I don't have the balls to actually bet much on sports. I don't like the lack of control in sports betting compared to poker. lol.

Re: Wagerline survivor contest

I read on FP's forum that the contest is sponsored by Bodog. So if you're ineligible to have an account with Bodog, Bodog won't pay you if you win (e.g. Canadians).
