Is it acceptable to post PMs?

A certain 2+2 poster sent me a PM threatening to have me banned because I have disagreed with or challenged too many of his posts. In his mind this makes me a troll.

I would like to post the threatening PM he sent me just to put it on the record in case he does get me banned.

I figure if I'm really banworthy he has no reason to keep his efforts secret.

It's *TT*.

I would really love to post the PM but I'm afraid the very act of posting it might get me banned - a la the Monica Lewinsky perjury trap.

1. If you're not trolling, the chances that the guy can get you banned is small.

2. Physical threats are obviously not tolerated. PM the mod whose forum this incident stems from and report him. Threats to get someone banned are a different story and not considered that big a deal.

3. Posting PMs you get is considered stupid and might get deleted, but generally we don't ban people for it. If you are worried about this, send a copy of the PM to the appropriate mod or myself.

4. If you do get banned and you want to complain about it, you can send an e-mail to forum-master@twoplustwo.com and and Admin will review the ban. If a mod is threatening you, you can PM an admin to have them review the situation.

Re: Is it acceptable to post PMs?

Just to be clear the threat I was referring to was his threat to get me banned.

Though a threat of physical violence would have made this thread ten times more fun.

It's considered bad form to publish a Private Message without the author's permission or unless he knows it will be published.

You should pm him and ask if he allows you to publish his pm. Tell him in your pm that you will be publishing his response to your request.

Do you mean "Stop trolling TT" or "Stop trolling, TT"?

OP, I think posting the PM is the proper play in this instance.

If all the evidence is shown in those two threads, TT comes off way worse than OP here, *especially* given his mod status.

Plus, when did disagreeing with someone most of the time = them trolling you?

In that case PVN, Borodog and NT are my trolls.

Lol, 2+2, serial bizniss.

Post the pm, complain to ryan, mat and forum-master whatever the hell @2p2.com. Burn down a small town and kick a dog. Only then will you truly be accepted here.

P.S. TT is kind of a tool, just get used to it.

TT sucks enough at posting that I think the PM merits its own OOT thread and subsequent flaming should be encouraged.

In the 2-7 thread I just posted ":eyesrolling" because I thought the criticism of TT's posts was so obvious that it was a waste of time to spell it out.

I can't remember his exact post but basically he recommended folding 2w6 (i.e. 236, 246, 256) UTG, *in order to reduce variance*.

In my opinion this is bad advice for any poker variant (folding thinly +EV hands to reduce variance), but especially bad for 2-7, which has a huge variance no matter how you play it. If you really fear variance that much you should simply not play 2-7.

Anyway I wanted to just leave it at that but then he made some bizarre attack, claiming I had made razz games softer which is truly absurd for many reasons, which was so dumb I had to respond.

If THIS is what the threats are about, TT is WAY more out of line than OP, particularly threatening to ban someone for posts in a forum he doesn't even mod. Disagreement is not trolling.
