I need things to do with my GF

Hello all.

My GF and I never know what to do at night when we hang out. I'm 20, she's 19. We live in Irvine and about 30 seconds walk away from each other. After dinner, we usually end up watching a movie or some DVDs I have. We're both Christians so we're waiting for marriage to have sex.

Any suggestions on fun things we can do that's not super pricy? I can only beat the MICRO games, so my wage is about 20/hour. Thanks for help.

Don't forget huggling.

I'm not familiar with the area, but I'm sure there are lots of good hikes or walks you can go on. Sometimes local symphonies will offer really cheap deals to get people interested. That could be fun.

Might get more responses if you add some detail. For example, other than your faith, what interests do you share?

When I was 20 I hung out with large groups most of the time. One on one dates were reserved for doing that which your faith prohibits.

Hi rakes,

I had a group of friends at that age that were into games, backgammon, spades, hearts, etc. It can be a fun inexpensive way to pass the time.

According to the city website, there are some park activities coming up:

Day in the Park: April 21, 10 AM - 1 PM Heritage Community Park: Sounds geared toward children and famiies

Sounds of Spring Concert Finale: Apr. 22

A lot of bowling places will have discount days or rates.

Check your community center for things like inexpensive classes that might be fun, open swimming, etc.

Borrow new DVD's to watch for free with a library card.

I assume you guys are hooked up with a local young/college aged adults group at church that meets weekly? If not, and you can find one you both like it will be a springboard for more activities, will keep you focused and expand your social circle with like minded people.

isn't there a Dave & Busters in Irvine? That's always fun. Also:

bowling
mini-golf
take a fun class together (salsa dancing, tennis lessons, etc.)

There's so much you can do together!

If its within the budget join a health club together.

Utah and I go all the time together, it one of my favorite things we do. Today we shot hoops for an hour and a half.

In the summer when they open the outdoor pool we are there a lot.(with the kids too)

If you're not cooking together, that's an idea. My gf and I made bread last night. We also don't know much about wine, so we try to have "wine night" once a week where we plan out a dinner to eat and a complementary wine to try, and then we cook it together.

Thanks for all the replies so far. Looks like I made the right choice to post here instead of OOT.

She is musical, and I'm musically retarded-- I'm literally tone deaf. Although she's a math minor, she doesn't have any competitiveness in her. She doesn't like games I like to play such as Bang, Settlers, Scrabble Magic, Poker, Spades. Sorry, I'm not very good at describing my interests.

We both have Disneyland passes, and we go about once a month. Isn't it boring with just two people at the beach? Just tan and chill?

I went to dave and buster twice with her. Each time we had to wait outside for someone to bring us in cuz we're both under 21. That's sorta lame but the place itself is a pretty nice place to hang out.

Like 24-hour fitness or something? We have a pretty nice school gym though it's usually really crowded.

Thanks for all the comments so far. Any more ideas would be appreciated.

I think salsa dancing would be a blast. Any kind of dance lessons would be a lot of fun. Also, I've got great memories of past dates where we went bowling. I'd go again in a heartbeat. I like these suggestions!

I'd bet most girls would love the dancing lessons thing, if you can stomach it. Nice thing is, it leads directly to having something else to do - going dancing of course.

As to the beach being dull, bring a book or a magazine and enjoy relaxing. Jog along it, or rollerblade, or throw a frisbee. When you're done, cooling off in the water feels like the best thing ever invented. And all that activity powers up a mighty hunger and thirst, which makes everything you eat extra tasty. A day at the beach is about most everything feeling great, all the time. Bring a cooler.

On the other hand, you don't want to have sex, so maybe you should stay away from the beach. And dancing too.

lol. I remember when i was a kid, coming home from the beach and thinking that ramen was the best tasting food ever. The beach does seem to make everything tasty.

Heheh me too. I used to go to the beach and eat ramen for lunch every day during summers when I was a kid, and as far as I could see, it was the greatest thing ever.
