OK, now that I got that out of my system...how do you manage to overspend THREE THOUSAND dollars in only two months and not notice? Really? I mean, a grand or two in you don't pause and wonder why you aren't out of money yet? I remember when I was 20 and careless with my money, but $3,000??? Willful ignorance, at best, methinks.

You can work off your debt to pokerstars if you go and work for them, they are always hiring dealers, they have a lot of tables.

Allright guys, the punctuation is not what i am after, i typed in a rush as i am after answers on what can happen.
I apologise for my grammar like i said i am after answers as i am quite scared at the backlash of what could happen, the government gives a grant here in the uk each year of $5000 so if you see where i am coming form over 3 years i receive $15000 from the Government. So $3000 is only a small part of the money i receive for my studies.
Anyway enough of of that what do you guys think they can do to me...?

Just to try to clarify the above, so you spent $8000 since February and didn't notice that you spent $3000 more than the $5000 you received to last you the year?

Agree a repayment plan with Stars or you may as well not bother finishing your University degree.

Why do people always say "I typed in a rush," or "I was in a hurry and at work," as if you can't engage your entire brain if you are working quickly? Must be a bitch trying to play more than one table!

Additional FWIW, we don't really care about your problem, but it's always fun to make fun of new posters who only contribute here when they are trying to get away with something.

Re: can pokerstars sue me...?

Normally if you get some money in your account which is should not go there it is not yours. I've heard of people getting millions in their account because of a bank or company screw up. Of course they had to return the money because it did not belong to them. On another instance the person who got a large sum deposited withdrew it and was later prosecuted for fraud. These are examples from Sweden though.....

why is it whenever someone gets screwed over 27 cents we have threads like "ZOMG WHAT THE &*$&*($# NEVER PLAY AT POKERWEB.COM THEY ARE *$&*()$#*&( SCAMMERS I DID NOT GET MY 27 CENTS MOTHER$&*($#!!!!!!1!!ONE!!" but when someone gets extra money from a site it is "am I legally obligated to pay this back?"

nice double standard

[IANAL but this is my understanding of how payment errors are handled in the UK]

If you agree that they overpaid you then should contact them, explain you're poor and have spent the money and work out a payment plan. Even if its like $25/month for the next 10 years they'll might go with that, which should be within your means.

If you refuse to pay, they can take you to court. The money you spent wasn't yours. The fact that you didn't notice the extra money and spent it is your problem, not theirs and they are entitled to have it back.

Provided you show you are willing to pay the money back over a reasonable period (taking in to account your personal circumstances) a court would be satisfied with the way you're dealing with it, so the site won't both persuing you.

Since relocating to the UK Crown dependency, PokerStars has been the subject of financial media speculation regarding a possible IPO or merger with a publicly listed company. Analysts estimated its market value would be approximately $3 billion (US), which would have made the company one of the world's largest privately held gambling companies.[4]
