Bartender beaten by off-duty cop

Link to video in this story. Take a look.

Damn.

Today seems to be an especially wacky/crazy news day.

Sickening. Saw it on the news last night. Took the authorities 1 month before they arraigned his punk ass.

It should be illegal for this man to ever drink alcohol again.

I love how she stood up for that guy and then he just watched her get the [censored] beat out of her.

Well-played, morbidly obese officer of the peace.

Did you watch the video? This guy should be shot. He beat the [censored] out of a woman half his size I don't care how drunk he was.

Is it terrible of me to think that if I sexed her up that I'd have to donkey punch her?

Well the whole world has access to him beating on some tiny chick, so it's going to get really bad for him soon enough. Plus I don't think cops who beat on tiny chicks are really popular behind bars.

He went behind the bar wearing a hat. That's a free drink on him for everybody in the bar where I come from.

Re: Bartender beaten by off-duty cop

Tuq / MBillie - oh yeah I assume what you're saying is true. I was more surprised that a response to a 500lb behemoth wailing on a petite woman is: "yeah don't let that guy drink anymore".

Of course. But when he gets out, it should be a violation of his (lifelong) parole to ever drink alcohol again. People who lack the ability to control themselves after having alcohol should not be allowed to drink alcohol. Yeah, yeah, this guy surely lacks self-control even sober, I know. But there are a large number of people in this world who get downright abusive when they drink, and they should not be allowed to drink. Ever.

Dude - gotcha. Anyway the video is appalling, and the cop kinda looks like Bam Margera's dad.

It looks like there are a few men in the video just standing around watching it happen. That's so messed up.

Also the dude's a cop, if there was no video he might not have gotten in trouble at all. I need to hire someone to follow me and video tape me 24/7.

Re: Bartender beaten by off-duty cop

That dude looks like he was a hell of a lot bigger than 250. That is probably what it says on his license, but he was closer to 3 bills. What a [censored] douchebag. I hope he gets to room with White Power Bill inside.

Re: Bartender beaten by off-duty cop

i think the sickest part, is how the police didn't even arrest the guy for a month. i was involved in an assault case when i was about 12 years old. a plain clothes secret service agent, bumped a woman with his car in a cross walk. then he got out of the car and threatened to kill her. he got no jail time. and it took two trials to convict him of misdemeanor assault. the first trial was a hung jury. this guy was more connected than the cop in question here (his father was the chief of police in DC) but it still sickens me how cops protect one another even in cases like this.

I have my doubts that this guy will get any jail time. I bet he just loses his job. It is so sick.

theres more to the story. Apparently the cops tried to cover it up and pay the bartender and owner of the bar to not release the video.

does not suprise me at all. i don't want to get into it, because it is a long boring story for the most part. but the trial i was involved with as a witness in just opened my eyes to how the police department protects its own. and the lengths they are willing to go to to protect violent, corrupt, and all around douche bag cops.

Wow.

Pretty tough chick. Gotta give her some credit.

I agree, he should be taken somewhere and shot.

Took some people long enough to help her. I like the guy who comes toward the camera on the right, then slowly ambles back around the bar, but hurries more as someone else from the back room comes to help.

How do you just stand there and watch that happen for that long?

SOP for PIGS

He'll probably get probation, and the only jail he'll see will be in his new uniform as a guard, if they don't hire him as sizzle lean down at the mall.

He was originally only charged with a misdemeanor until the video came out. Also, the police have just recently taken steps to remove him from the force (this happened a month ago).

The idiots standing around all said they were "about" to jump in and help her.

I don't care how big/bad the guy is beating up a woman, I'm going to go get some punches in on the dirtbag.

If he has a gun or a knife and it's just suicidal, then I might throw chivalry out the window.

At any rate:

average sized man + barstool >>>>>>>> Drunken Behemoth.

Havent watched video yet, but if this happened to the bar I frequent, myself and 64 of my friends would have beat the ish out of this guy, had everyone leave cut him into little pieces and fed him to all the homeless people to cover it up...

...how are there no bouncers or people who protect there bar so no [censored] goes down?

...unless everyone knew he was a cop and were pussies and afraid of him or what "might" happen to him

Just to clear up this part of the story; a police report was filed by the bartender two days after the incident. By this time, the cop had checked himself into a substance abuse program (on the advice of counsel). The Police Department knew where he was, but they are not allowed to remove someone from rehab to make an arrest. After he left rehab, he was arrested.

This is a small Chicago neighborhood bar, it is not unusual at all that there were no bouncers.
