proposed 2+2 monthly podcast
 

Just back from Vegas and had a great meeting with Mason and Mat where we came up with an idea for a 2+2 podcast each month.

Content would obviously not be a problem as it would be geared around the authors and the community. The goal is to expose 2+2 to a new market sector, as well as provide a new medium for El Diablo to dominate. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Any suggestions? Good/bad idea?

I like the idea, as I enjoy listening to The Circuit and the new Pokerwire show, so I'd like another podcast to listen to which I feel would be credible.

As long as it can be original enough and its not too cheesy...we already have so many different types of podcasts available to us from other various sites all talking about the same [censored] more or less.

Here's a suggestion (just piggybacking on what you mentioned above in your OP Tuco)...instead of having a podcast dedicated to talking about the circut, current events, player interviews (not that any of it is bad, or can't be talked about) Have it dedicated to the forums of 2+2 and the mods and posters of 2+2.

For example have like the first brodcast be about the MTT forum...interview the mods...discuss hands posted on the forum...have 2+2 posters call in w/ their take...etc

Also if it's going to be a monthly podcast...it should be at least a minimum of a 2 hour show...personally I believe a weekly hour show is the best way to go.

Just a thought.

I think that it has to be strategy focused obviously. 2+2 sells a lot of strat. books. It only makes sense. Now how long would it be and how many different games/levels it would cover in a month would be a difficult question to answer

Do what no other Podcast has the courage to do...

1)Talk about OTHER FREAKING POKER GAMES INSTEAD OF HOLD'EM. in both Cash and Tournament play.

2)Use the breadth of information here to provide real advice to poker players on Bankroll management (yes everybody that reads this site knows but this is something for people outside of 2+2)

3) TT talking about the gaming industry, Olivert on whats up in Poker radio and TV deals

4) Traveling the Tournament Circuit advice (how to save $ on room and board.

5) Working the System. How to get the most out of Comps in casinos.

6) best places to eat drink and be merry (besides just Vegas)

My advice is look at the views in the groups and use those as a guide about what people are interested in. My list came from the things I like to hear about and read on the board. I think this is a great Idea and I'll save space on my Ipod for it [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

This would be awesome and weird. I've never imagined posters here having voices, this would mess with my head if veteran strat guys were on.

I would very much like to hear this.

There's a good interview show out there (Rounders)

There's a good generic random crap show out there (Ante Up)

If this PokerWire thing is a good tournament info show that leaves the only niche as a general strategy show.

I would love to hear that. I'm sure it would have to be holdem heavy to bring in the most audience but that can still leave room to cover other games. Hand analysis of some important recent tournament/TV hands. Perhaps some interviews with the more successful 2+2ers about their outlook and strategy. Plus all the poker life stuff. It has the potential to be an outstanding show.

I like Rounders. It is a good show with a couple tweaks could be top notch.

arrgh, it was only a matter of time before somebody moved forward with this.

I half been tossing around a similar idea that I would use on my own site but have been pretty lazy about getting it going and I don't know very much about podcasting nor website design.

Basically I wanted to try to combine my interest in poker and 2+2 with my background in radio and interviewing and see where it takes me on my own site.

Well, if I ever get mine up and running maybe we'll be friendly competitors.
Or maybe I'll end up contributing on the official 2+2 podcast somehow if that is something that interests you.
