Re: 2 hands.... who gets away from them?

Hand 1 is a classic stackadonk, that could be done with AA and AK as well.He is much more likely to bet with KK there, since the board is drawey and he doesn't want you to check behind.
I am pretty much never folding here.

Hand 2 - SB vs BB, hard to laydown, but this is either a bluff or a monster.Since he is unknown, both can easily be true, so i don't know.I probably play it the same though.
Really tough to fold when you have trips and it's a blinds battle.Need a little read at least...

Re: 2 hands.... who gets away from them?

Re: 2 hands.... who gets away from them?

Hand 1 looks good.

I think I can find a fold in hand 2 on the river. It's very possible that he has a J with a better kicker. I usually assign a very low bluff % to unknowns.

Re: 2 hands.... who gets away from them?

hand 1 is very standard, hand 2 why not call turn? keep the pot smaller- makes it more likely for him to bet a worse hand on the river which you call. you're virtually calling any potsized or less river bet.

Re: 2 hands.... who gets away from them?

Hand 1- preflop fold. Reads on turn? This is tough to get away from...but if he's rele solid tag he doesn't make this play unless he has better kicker, 4's full, or k's full. Hand 2... VERy tough to fold but looks like he has JK or AJ. Both this hands are EXTREMEly tough to fold, and I'm positive 98% of the people in MSNL and 90% of the people in HSNL do not fold these.

Re: 2 hands.... who gets away from them?

In hand 1, villian could easily put you on a fd on the flop, and c/r AK allin. I doubt he thinks you have a 5. Easy call.

Hand 2, villian is unknown, easy call.

I mean obv this isn't standard, I just felt like playing back a little bit b/c I had been relatively inactive.... do u get away once we get to the turn though?

Re: 2 hands.... who gets away from them?

Hand 1. I fold preflop but once you call the flop you want to hit ur 5 i presume. So there is no getting away from it.
Hand 2. Its difficult.Hes made a very enticing bet on the river after a relatively small raise on the turn.I call but hes probably got a house of 4s or a bigger jack but sometimes in poker ur destined 2 lose. Another point is its a bit strange he elected to check call the flop rather than lead out, which leads me 2 believe he hit it right between the eyes. FOLD. Oh i dont know. Good Luck.

Re: 2 hands.... who gets away from them?

Hand 1 I would never fold, ever.

Hand 2 I think it's probably best to fold to the turn raise.

Reef 02-25-2007 06:35 AM

Re: 2 hands.... who gets away from them?

hand 1 is aight

hand 2 if I'm calling that turn raise, I'm def calling that river bet. But then he shows me a better kicker. oh well. I prolly play it the same.

Re: 2 hands.... who gets away from them?

No way i fold in hand 1. I think he has AK or AA here pretty much 100% of the time. But geez, your preflop and flop play was just awful IMO.

Hand 2, if im feeling really disciplined i fold on the turn but im not gonna call that turn to fold the river.

DLizzle 02-25-2007 07:44 AM

Re: 2 hands.... who gets away from them?

hand 1 easy call

hand 2, i'd really like some kind of read, even a feeling, like what kind of player do you think he probably is? the spot kinda sucks because he prob has a J unless he's bluffing and you don't beat that many Js that raise preflop even though it is in the blinds. if you don't have much history I might just let it go on the river, he doesn't have much reason to bluff you in this spot w/o history. I could see him sometimes showing up with a pp here though so maybe call, its pretty close.

I understand that nobody likes the preflop play and I acknowledge that it's not standard, etc, etc, I'm not trying to defend it. Being that we are in the hand however, what's wrong w/ the flop play?
