Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

I just received this email from Party Poker:

Hi xxxxx,

Take advantage of an exclusive chance to win a share of $300,000 and get even more cash for your PartyPoints.

Not only will you be able to swap your PartyPoints for instant cash for the duration of the promotion, but you’ll also get a slice of a $300,000 USD prize pool if you’re one of the top 150 points earners.

Earn the most points and you’ll take home a huge $20,000, guaranteed.

You can cash in your PartyPoints at the end of every week. Points will be worth the following amounts:

PartyPoints earned in a week Exchange value per PartyPoint (USD)
150 3 cents
750 3.5 cents
2,500 4 cents
4,000 4.5 cents
6,000 5.5 cents

Reach the dizzy heights of the High Roller

Becoming a high roller is easy. Just play on your favorite Party sites and accumulate PartyPoints as usual.

You’ll be ranked on the High Roller Leader Board according to how many points you earn during the promotion. The Leader Board will be updated daily from February 28.

Six weeks to get to the top

Once you’re on the board it’s a straight race to the top. The $300,000 USD prize pool will be split between the top 150 Highest Rollers at the end of the six weeks. Prizes will be awarded as follows:

Prize structure

Prize Number of players Cash (USD)
1st prize 1 $20,000
2nd prize 5 $10,000
3rd prize 11 $5,000
4th prize 28 $2,500
5th prize 105 $1,000

Remember, all you need to earn is 4,000 PartyPoints to make it onto the Leader Board. From there on it’s a race to the top.

The High Roller will run from February 27 to April 9, so make sure you're ready.

Sincerely,
The PartyAccount Team

nice. Notice they increased the value since the last promo, wich gave 4.5cent at 6k points.

Got the same email. Then converted it into rakeback with this promo.

at 6max 100nl, the highest PP points a week, 6000 points, amounts a little over 11% rakeback. I dont know how it is calculated for the other limits, but it doesnt look that good after doing some math.

Or can anyone tell me Im wrong?

Can anyone tell me if this really is a VIP offer or did everyone get it? Because I was turned down by Party VIP about a month ago and now I received this.

I am a VIP and didn't recieve this.

Does anyone know if tournament points count as well as cash games?

If it is only cash game points fixed limit players will CRUSH this!

Re: Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

all points will count because all players get points of the same variety no matter what you play. however there is bound to be an opitimal game to play to achieve points the quickest.

but also notice theyve nixed the lump sum bonus for achieving a certain amount of points over the course of the promotion.

Re: Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

How good is the party promotion in comparison with point for cash at UB, isnt it much easier to get points at UB:
750-999 UltimatePoints earned – convert to cash at a rate of 3 cents per point

1000-1999 UltimatePoints earned - convert to cash at a rate of 5 cents per point

2000 or more UltimatePoints earned - convert to cash at a rate of 7.5 cents per point

Wow this is so sick. Gonna be a serious grind. What a perfect time for my new computer and monitor to arrive next week. I may have to shut down my cellphone and completely forsake real life for the duration of this promotion.

Does this come out of your MGR if you get 'unmenionable'?

My 'unmentionable' seemed to be less than I thought for last month after the previous VIP promotion.

Re: Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

Bingo!

I hate people who send PMs etc. about Party Poker rakeback.
After sending the first post to this topic some moron contacted me by PM.

Here is the message:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hello,

My name is Sean and i run the site SPAM REMOVED. I noticed while searching the 2+2 forum that you play at party, I am interested to know if you are receiving rake back?

I used to own SPAM REMOVED. We worked primarily with free $50 accounts, and managed around 30 rake back accounts at party poker. I then sold the site to SPAM REMOVED where I am currently the affiliate manager.

Recently I signed an agreement to start SPAM REMOVED on my own. The site is relatively new, but I am in no means a rookie to the game of rakeback. I used to multi-table limit, NL, and High Stakes MTTs.

I apologize if you already are receiving rake back, and this email is a waste of your time, but please understand; in order for me to compete with the big boys, I offer rake back deals that are tough to turn down.

Please email me back if you are interested in setting something up.

Good luck at the tables,

Sean

It kinda sucks because as Blue status, even if I play more than anyone else, I won't win top prize cus I can't accumulate the points as fast as Gold players. SO unfair.....

OK are the PartyPoints we've earnt before the promotion still valued at only 1c each? Is there any chance that can we trade all our points at the higher value if we hit a weekly target?

Sorry to ask a silly question but I have 20k points in my account that I'd like to cash in right now, but adds up to an extra $1100 if they're tradable at the higher rate.

Thanks

Re: Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

Am I the only one who never understands a single goddam thing about ANY poker promotion?

For example, I am not a VIP, got no email about this, but appear to be getting the High Roller promotion anyway. So I follow the HR link on my a/c page, and it says this:

"There's more: Our VIPs can redeem their PartyPoints for cash from February 27 through April 9..."

If that's so, how come non-VIPs like me seem to be part of the promotion? Why do they make this so bloody confusing?

Edit to delete question I asked: PP pay the momey directly into a/c weekly.

I'm wondering if deductions from MGR will go through the roof? Really not sure.

Related to deductions, I also notice that there is an option to opt out of the HR promotion, so it would be really good to know whether doing that is the most EV thing to do.

........

Dukey - oh...maybe so. Seriously, I'm clueless about a lot of stuff.

Re: Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

I think it is open to non-VIPs as you can become a VIP by playing a lot of hands, which of course will tie you in line with the promotion being offered. Or something else that makes sense...

Re: Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

To become party vip, you need to have earn 10.000 partypoints in 3 months period or something like that.

Just checked the leader board (I'm in the 50's) the [censored] in 1st has ~68000 points. Total BS. It is OBVIOUS him and friends are sharing a computer (the only was to get that is playing 9-12 tables for 24 hours per day for this whole promotion.

link to the leaderboard please. I cant find it!

Re: Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

lol, some of these people in the leaderboard are [censored] terrble players. A few of my buddies are in the top 50. I feel bad for them if they actually play enough to do it.

Re: Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

A pop up w/ the promo+leaderboard opens whenever I open the PP client. I dunno how else to get there,.

Re: Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

For some reason I wasn't included in this promotion. Having my host look at it. Very odd.

Re: Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

FU PP. While I was reading the highroller page I accidentally clicked opt out, and was immideately opted out, no confirming or anything. I've mailed them telling them to opt me in. I hope it works.

Falc 03-01-2007 09:06 AM

Re: Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

Ah, I got opted in again and even got to keep the points I earned during the promotion. <3 PP.

Re: Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

Anyone else know how to view the leaderboard?

skegvegaspoker 03-01-2007 09:23 AM

Re: Party Poker VIP: The High Roller

Oh nevermind, I think I will get to view it once I've reached 4000 points. The fact I haven't yet probably means I'm not on it.
