Lent coming up.
 

I know very little about lent's real importance and such, but I am told it starts tomorrow.

Anyone else use lent to give up things just to see if they can do it, even though you aren't religious?

I have no idea what I plan to give up...so hopefully you guys spit out some good ideas.

Giving up alcohol again, but I do consider myself religious. Some co-workers and I hit the bar in my office building for one last beer during a "coffee break" this afternoon.

yeah, i usually use it as an opportunity to give something up. any (serious) ideas?

You're getting married? (celibacy for priests, at least, is a vow not to marry --- nuns take a vow of chastity which is what I assume you meant.)

I'm going to try to give up fast food. Should be fairly difficult...damn you Taco Bell, why is your food so delicious?

Does the McFish sandwich count? Because those are HUGE during lent. No way can those count.

I actually adhere to lent fairly strictly, not because of religion, but its good timing before summer, I work out a lot, eat very strictly, smoke no cigarettes (I dont smoke very often), run, no booze except saturdays, no drugs at all, etc.

I should seriously use this time to quit alcohol for forty days, I sure a hell know my body needs it.

Personally I'm leaning toward giving up chocolate (which I might not have ate anyway), ice cream...or sex.

The last one should be a cinch.
