Drunkest athlete you have ever seen in person is...
This is a list with short stories involving pros you have either partied with or seen boozing it up in a casino or bar or wherever.
My most memorable drunk was Greg Vaughn of the Brewers, Reds, Rockies, Padres, ect... That dude was at a club near Sacramento towards the end of his career. He was wasted, but a happy drunk. Seemed like a cool guy. |

Re: Drunkest athlete you have ever seen in person is...
What was his posse like there? His posse at the bar was pretty bizarre. It was 2 balla lookin' black dudes (who were crazy smooth picking up some white women), and then some short hispanic guy.. I want to say Cuban, but maybe somewhere in Central America.. he was probably in his 40s and dressed kinda snazzy.. and a puerto rican girl who. It was pretty crazy.
The odd part was it was the middle of the summer.. I didn't think he lived in Sac. And midtown sac isn't exactly the hoppin' night life. It was just a regular bar.. no one was bothering him or anything. Kinda neat actually. |

It was 2 years ago, and obviously no one was picking up women since it was at SC's ghetto basketball complex, but his posse was not compromised of 4 crazy gangsters. I remember Bibby in his down jacket and blinged out neck wear... |

And this is coming from someone who is 5-6. Didn't bother with the 'Sup-Czar' though. |

A few years ago I saw Jerome Kersey at a bar here in town. Not sure if he was drunk, but the two white businesswoman types that were basically giving him a lapdance sure were.
Now he plays in my city league. HOLLA JEROME |

Re: Drunkest athlete you have ever seen in person is...
more fratello gossip i just remembered. he used to frequent a little italy deli that i had some good friends that worked at. he had a real thing for this cute 19yo who worked there and would hit on her every day. he especially badgered her to take a vacation with him to hawaii or some exotic place. apparently this cold bitch was unimpressed and didnt realize the legacy of the czar. everyone there thought he was a creep too.

Aside, what athletes have you ran into outside their normal "court." [/ QUOTE ] I live in Houston and saw Jeff Bagwell back in 02/03 at a Mexican restaurant in a nice part of town. I showed up stag to eat lunch, and 10 minutes in I look up and some dude is walking right by my table. None other than Baggy. He was walking with his chest all puffed out, he looked about 5'10" and pissed off. About 20 paces behind him was his lady (dark-skinned woman) wearing an ugly baby blue sweatsuit with shades on talking on her cell phone. They sat down and had lunch. I verified with the waitor that it was him. I felt like going by to say "hi" but he seemed sort of PO'd. My coworker swears we saw Dikembe Mutombo about a year ago during lunch. I just remember seeing a really tall black dude walking by. It may have been him, I didn't really know. Oh yeah...the best story. I was driving to work one day back in about '02, and I'm stuck on a 35mph road, and over to my left is an old man in a Bentley convertible with a sort of grin on his face. He's peculiar because he's decked out in a suit...and...ASTROS hat on. I thought this was really cheesy/weird...then it dawned on me that it was Drayton McLane, owner of the Astros. I wanted to roll the window down and yell something to him but I chickened out. |

My sis and her bf saw him and Ewing getting out of a limo with some ladies back a while back. |
Re: Drunkest athlete you have ever seen in person is...
Club 152 is kind of lame.
Some Grizzlies players might help de-lameify it a little. But not by much. |
Re: Drunkest athlete you have ever seen in person is...
You act like I go there all the time. I just saw them there 1 time. I'm not big into the club scene in Memphis, just went there one time.

Steve Howe. He didn't appear to be very drunk. He was drinking whiskey rocks.

I have no idea if he was drunk or not, but I saw Jason Williams (when he was a King) at a gas station. He tried to hit on these two white chicks and they blew him off. I chuckled. |
Re: Drunkest athlete you have ever seen in person is...
I was meeting a couple buddies to go to the B&M one night a couple years ago and naturally we decided to meet up at a strip club (Club 205 for you Portland guys)
Lo and behold there was Damon Stoudamire kickin' it at the bar by himself drinking a drink. Of all the places I expected Damon to be about 7 o'clock on a Saturday night, this dive titty bar wasn't one of them. He seemed to be pretty chill though, wasn't being a douchebag at all. We were there for about 15 mins and he left shortly before we did, I assume to go find the real pussy. |
Re: Drunkest athlete you have ever seen in person is...
morewine,
when i saw you responded i was expecting a ridiculous story involving police, fights, and/or something big with the protagonist being a belligerent rasheed wallace or zach randolph. ruben patterson would have done too. i am disappointed. |

Club 152 is kind of lame. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] You act like I go there all the time. [/ QUOTE ] Whoa. Easy there cowboy. I have no idea how this is 'acting like you go there all the time.' For example, if you had asked me, "Hey Bob, I've NEVER been to Club 152 before. What do you think?" my answer would still be, "Club 152 is kind of lame. The Memphis Grizzlies players might help de-lameify it a little. But not by much." I've been there more than once. My presence did nothing to help de-lameify it. In fact, just the opposite. Fratello with girls probably less than half his age helped counter my lameing effect on the place though. |
Re: Drunkest athlete you have ever seen in person is...
A couple of years ago I was having a cigar in the bar at the Ritz-Carlton in Phoenix and the Supersonics were in town. All the road teams stay there, in the past I'd seen Gary Payton come in with a huge entourage, clowning the whole time, clearly the center of attention as they walked down the hall to their rooms.
Anyway, this one time I was there Danny Fortson came in and sat at the bar by himself. It was fairly LOL why - he'd been suspended for the game so couldn't travel to the arena with the team. I guess he found out in transit that day so there was no point staying home. Didn't bother to talk to him but he is predictably intimidating in person. |
Re: Drunkest athlete you have ever seen in person is...
We ran into Vin Baker and Frank Brikowski at a club in Kirkland years ago.
While I can't confirm he was drunk, the fact that he was Vin Baker would seem to speak to him being [censored] out of his gourd. |
