$3-- SB v BB: Call All-In With AJs?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (7 handed)

Is this a standard call? I see a lot of donkey moves in these games. Only 17 hands in but this guy seems pretty tight...17/8.

Hero (t2225)
BB (t1295)
UTG (t1625)
MP1 (t445)
MP2 (t1625)
CO (t3755)
Button (t4030)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
5 folds, Hero raises to t300, BB raises to t1295, Hero calls t995.

Flop: (t2590) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)

Turn: (t2590) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)

River: (t2590) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)

Final Pot: t2590

Open push PF. Much easier.

I'd call and wouldn't be happy about it. You are getting good odds.

I'd probably raise less though, like to 250.

Not a bad idea. I've sort of been on automatic of raising in even multiples of the BB. I started trying that in my next SnG and took 1st place! (I don't think that's the main reason, but it might have helped. )

With the BB only 100 and my stack at 2200? I'd probably only get called by hands I don't want to play against, no?

Big range for a player with little more than 10X BB. I would normally call unless I've observed that he's very tight.

You don't consider your stack in this situation. Villain only has 13BB, so you are playing with that and not your 22BB stack. I push pre-flop.

Push preflop ud be surprised how many times any ace will call. If u just raise then you put ur self to a decision if you shove he has to make the decision for his stack.

At a 3$, with effective Stacks 13BB's, POOSH all day. villains will often call with aces, two paints, sutied connectors, etc.

Your right. It turns out he had A7. I was kind of surprised, but maybe I shouldn't be. I've seen guys pushing with a lot of stuff at these games, and this was an SB v BB so he probably thought I often don't have much.

Yeah, too many people are failing to realise that your own stack size matters not in this situation, cos villian has less than 13xBB the EFFECTIVE stacks are only that.

And also, as said you get called by many hands that you have crushed in a $3 tourney.
