I am not sure of which brand I would choos, but definitely a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.

My favorite under $25 is Rosemount shiraz. There are a couple local wineries that make good stuff too. I could live with those also.

2003 Columbia Crest Merlot Columbia Valley Grand Estates (no more than $12)
2004 Zind-Humbrecht Gewurztraminer Alsace ($18ish)
