Plo desktop Backgroud with useful concepts

I'm working on a Plo Desktop Background In PhotoShop, one which will remind of all the things thay I already know, but tend to forget after getting sucked out for the 12342th consecutive time in a row.

Just wondered if any of you got some tips, tricks or other useful concepts regarding Plo or poker in general.

Typical one liners will be happily accepted.

Thanks.

In the pot limit omahas, players can use 2 of their hole cards and 3 of the community cards to make the best 5 card hand. Players can bet up to the size of the pot at any time.

one thing i found useful for a while was a little diagram of the different wraps with outs/nut-outs marked, ie (with the brackets showing downcards):

45(678)= 13 nut outs
(5)67(89) = 11 nut outs, 6 non-nut outs

I often have notes on my screen, such as "stick to the plan" or "Play solid", to help me remember not to tilt. I don't know if that's what youre looking for.

Would be fun to see the finished goods

Back when my regular game was live 20-40 LH at Foxwoods, I kept a laminated card on the table behind my chips that had this quote on it: "As for the quietude of the sage, he is not quiet because quietness is said to be good. He is quiet because the multitude of things cannot disturb his quietude." So cheezy.

Don't be afraid to fold 2nd or 3rd set, especially in an unraised pot.

Don't be afraid to fold the 2nd nut flush if the pot is small.

It would be also good to post some common run-down odds

serious question: how can you see them on your desktop? Wouldnt it make more sense to print this out and hang it on the wall or something?

I have all this info on a Post-It note which I stick to my forehead when I'm playing.

The nut flush draw is a good hand only with some other outs.

Even your better straight draws lose a lot of their value when there are 2 suited cards on the flop.

Folding is rarely a bad idea facing 3+ opponents ; raising is rarely a bad idea head's up.

Steal those blinds !

With good draws, you want to commit either the minimum or most of you stack on the flop.

Even bad players can have good hands.

Re: Plo desktop Backgroud with useful concepts

I'm a noob so I doubt I can contribute timeless knowledge, but one thing I've learned quickly is that combo draws, even with many outs, but to less than the nuts, in multiway pots are essentially worthless. Often you are sandwiched between a better straight draw and a better flush draw (not to mention made hands).

Bit of a warning, I have done similar things with post it notes before.

They work great for a few days....then they become part of the scenery. Only way I have found to combat this is to change colors every few days.

God I need to start following this advice. This is definitely the biggest downfall for players that play LAG in shorthanded games and tend to call/raise thin.

This one's so important that I just wrote it down on paper for myself:

NO cute reraises OOP with middle trash

Guessing this isn't a big leak for a lot of posters here, but it seems like it costs me about half of my winrate. I get terrible FPS when I'm deep.

Ok, I disagree with my own line here. I have made some calculations to compare the EV of reraising all-in a set with a 21 outer on flop and the EV of just calling, and calling is much better IF YOU CAN PUT YOUR OPPONENT ON A SET and if you have enough odds to call any non pairing turn. I think Reuben discusses this issue in How good is your PLO. It is basic, but I tend to forgot it very easily.

Re: Plo desktop Backgroud with useful concepts

There is a really simple situation where this happens, when you know he will be priced in to call with a set on the turn. if you hit. But this is talking about a huge draw where you are a favourite over a set.
