Battle of the Bay V (annual...er...now semi-annual 2+2 gathering)

Happy New Years everyone in the San Francisco Bay Area!

Can't believe it's already been three years since the first "Battle of the Bay", and time is fast approaching for another. Usually this event occurs in March on a Saturday from afternoon until sometime around midnight. Suggestions are appreciated. If you want to participate, please reply to this post with the following:

(a) Which Saturday in March is most convenient?
(b) Do you have a house to host the game? If so, where is it?
(c) Do you have a poker table you could bring?

Most everyone has poker chips. Perhaps someone has a workable program to run a tournament.

For anyone new, the stakes are friendly small ($1/$2 ish range) with a $50 buy-in no-limit tournament at the end. The game of choice is usually no-limit cash game, but we’ve had a table of mixed games and some limit hold em’ in the past.

We have had attendances numbers ranging from mid-teens to mid-twenties. The last two times, Sossman in Fremont was kind enough to let us use his home for the games. I don't know if he would be willing to do it again or if there is another potential venue out there.

Eventually, I’ll be PMing for e-mails so an Evite can be constructed. It’s still some time away, and my box needs cleaning out. Let the discussion begin!

Re: Battle of the Bay V (annual...er...now semi-annual 2+2 gathering)

I enjoyed handing my money over to you guys last time, especially in the mixed game. Wouldn't mind doing it again if the amount stays roughly the same.

a) won't know until March, and still hoping to get stupid lucky enough to make it into the Shooting Stars
b) no, tiny apartment
c) no table either

Wow, how strange. I never come to this forum except for BotB stuff. I was just coming in here to make a proposal for the next BotB.

I want to do a big supersat for the Shooting Star. I'm going to make a new post.

Hopefully not the 3rd Saturday. That's our 2007 WSOP Prelim Event Tourney League here in Tracy.

If it's any other Saturday, I can bring chairs and a table if necessary again.

I would be interested in attending. At the moment I don't have any problems with whatever date is chosen. Can't help with the facilities, or supplies. The only thing I can bring to the game is cash, and beer.

I can bring Glocks, but I won't have enough for everyone.

I'm down. Don't have a big enough place to play, or any glocks, but I can show up!

If its during my spring break I would possibly play (Around March 23rd I believe but not positive). But only if i get to keep a glock

Hey, this sounds really fun, I've never met up w/ any 2p2ers before.

I have a nice 8 person, padded rails w/ cupholders table I could bring. Please put me on any mailing list or evite list. Thanks.

Sure, I'll play. Can't host, but can probably transport a folding table.

PMs sent...more details

Informal *bump* for this thread. Additional info:

I have sent PMs to everyone on this thread so far requesting e-mail addresses.

If you want to be included, please PM me your e-mail address to be added to the Evite list.

If you know any Bay Area 2+2ers who aren't aware of this thread, please direct them here.

The date is still to be determined and probably to be worked around Shooting Stars.

The host situation is still uncertain. Sossman has hosted the last two in Fremont, and I'm not sure if he wants to do it again if it can be helped. I'm talking with another prospective host who lives in San Mateo, but he's not certain if he can do it or not yet.

I know a Fremont non-posting 2+2er who hosts events. I'll direct him to this thread.

Battle of the Bay V, February 24th, 2007

- Sossman will be the host (again). His house is in Fremont. A big thanks for him doing this for the 3rd consecutive time. He has selected Saturday, February 24th, 2007 as the meet date.

- Sossman will create an Evite and send it out soon. On the Evite will be the address, directions and start time (usually starts around 3PM, IIRC)

- From here on out, please direct all PMs to Sossman with your e-mail address if you wish to be added to the Evite list.

Thank you,

Garland

Thanks Sossman!!! I'd host but no one wants to drive to Tracy. I'll be there. Let me know if I need to bring anything, ie. table, chairs, hookers, etc.

I will be there, I can bring chips again, since I know you all love the Plaques and Octagons...

I do still have a table, in case anyone wants to pick me up who can transport it.

Can I bring my wife? She likes to play, but we cannot get a regular game anymore, and she would probably have a good time.

Contact Sossman with your e-mail address to get added on the Evite. This Evite will show the number of people (also who is) attending and it's up-to-date.

Politely e-mail or PM Sossman if it's ok to bring x people. I think this number is dependent on how many 2+2ers accept. As Sossman is the host, it is totally up to him.

Andrew,

Silly questions from a first timer:

Do you need us to bring chairs or do you have enough to cover?

Do you want us there promptly at 4pm for tourney purposes?
