Re: losing with AA 100 times in a row

Playing low limit 6 max texas holdem I think my record is 4 in a row. And I have played a lot of hands and seen some pretty f'ed up ish, like quads over quads, runner runner straight flush to beat quads, etc. I wonder if it really is statistically possible to lose w/ aces 100 hands in a row on a 6 max limit table, even checking down to showdown. I dont think it is possible to lose 100 times in a row actually playing the hand out fast like most people play aces.

I once got aces twice in a row and lost both times. But it was rimit holdem. So it does not count.

Good point, it is statistically possible but practically in a real setting, probably impossible.

OP sux.

I lost 16 times in a row with KK at 1/2 6-max Limit Hold'em. And not one time was I against AA. 3 times against Kx unsuited.

Re: losing with AA 100 times in a row

It's easy. All you have to do is fold every time. Actually play out the hand though, and I guarantee no one ever has lost nor ever will lose 100x in a row with aces. The odds are just too astronomical.

It's impossible b/c everyone would stop playing poker/kill themselves somewhere between 1-100.

Here's a question, how many times would you have to lose with aces to quit poker? 25ish for me.

only way to "lose" is to fold it 100 times PF...and who would be this stupid??

odds are 4.05 * 10^-18 (rounded off)

I looked through my hand histories from yesterday, AKo was 2-19 and I hit an Ace or King 12 times on the flop. I guess thats why everyone laughs at limit, because jesus christ it sucks.

AKs was 3-7 btw and somehow despite donking off an unholy amount of bets while holding AK I still finished up on the day

Re: losing with AA 100 times in a row

against a random hand AA loses 20% of the time. so you lose 100 times in a row about 20.0 X 100 = 2000.0% of the time. it's that easy.

link to the 100 hand 100 vpip challenge plz. losing 100 random hands in a row at showdown i believe is impossible

Re: losing with AA 100 times in a row

suppose you only have 10% with AA, you always have more, but just take an easy lower bound. Then the proability of losing it 100 times in a row is 0.0027%. So I seriously doubt it. But yes, it's possible.

Re: losing with AA 100 times in a row

This is far more doable than people realize.
Every time you have AA the other person has 6 outs to your 2. That's a four out advantage.

You only have to miss 2 outs 100 times in a row while he has to hit any of 400. Meaning its twice as likely AA misses their outs as the opponent hitting his.
sry- but 2-1 odds are NOT impossible in hold them.
