That's funny. I thought he asked 'who wins?", not "who is favored?"

He did, but it's not a toss-up game or anything where you're going to see which side gets more votes. Or if this was the Super Bowl or something, it would be of more general interest even if the spread was large. Dallas is likely to win, everyone knows that, and the information on how likely they are to win is easy to find.

A thread on "Why might New Orleans pull the upset?" could be interesting.

I'm not offended or anything; it just seems to add clutter.

EDIT: Heh, right now New Orleans leads 3-2. POSSIBLE CONTRARIAN VOTING?!?!?!!?!??

I also have the exact same poll in my weekly NFC thread. Dallas is winning easily.

Honestly? I'll be picking the Saints straight up this week.

Re: Saints @ Cowboys

Explanation?

Cowboys are hot.

Cowboys are home.

Horn, Colston might not play nor are 100%.

Cowboys D is better. Cowboys O is comparable.

And this coming from a long time Cowboy Hater.

I also really wanted to pick the Browns against the Chiefs last week, and the Eagles over the Panthers.

I'm not saying I'm correct or there is any rhyme or reason. I just think Dallas is really high right now, and NO has been as hot if not hotter the last 2-3 weeks than them.

Re: Saints @ Cowboys

3 Weeks ago, Cincy beat NOR 31-16. 2 Weeks ago they pounded an average Atlanta team 31-13. Last week they pounded a suprising 9ers team at home 34-10.

Cowgirls beat Colts 21-14 at home 3 weeks ago, Tampa 38-10, and did look marginal on the road last week vs the Giants in an inter-division game.

OK, the last two weeks the Saints have looked hotter. I just don't see Dallas running the table, and this seems like a good game for them to stumble.

Saints at Dallas...they lost Hollis to steriods...Colston is probably out...Dallas has a great run D.

They are on the road.

The only thing in their favor is Dallas just game off a really tough/physical/emotional road win vs. divison rival.

Dallas wins unless both teams score in the 30s

Wow, nice eye there. I just checked it agai on the DVR. Him running up behind everyone and then passed them was kinda impressive. It looked like everyone else was in slow motion.

ya its pretty sick considering he started the play by blocking

Re: Saints @ Cowboys

So the Saints have a reverse on their 4th and short plays? Interesting. I like the call actually.

Needle77 12-10-2006 10:06 PM

Re: Saints @ Cowboys

So the Saints have completely changed the momentum of this game. I figured after a 70+ yard run on the road they would take a dive. Instead they drive from their 12 yard line for a TD and then pick off Jes....Tony Romo.

Re: Saints @ Cowboys

"If it is the 15 yard variety it would be close." ~Madden

Isn't the 15 yarder a personal foul which is an automatic first down?

And I really hate the running into the kicker penalty for the fact that it is the most avoidable of maybe any penalty next to a block in the back.

Case Closed 12-10-2006 10:22 PM

Re: Saints @ Cowboys

Needle,

I think you're right it is a auto first down.

lol, I called a friend earlier to bet 100 on NO and the 7.5 POINTS for me, but he made it on the NO to win..

Go Saints.

Re: Saints @ Cowboys

lol how do you miss that? They can't see a 15yarder period but they're supposed to distinguish between the personal foul and 'incidental' varieties?

This is why NFL back judges need to be between the ages of 30-55 and be able to run at a decent speed. They just can't get into position to make those calls. It looked like they were 15 yards from the play, of course the only flags they can throw from there are what they "think" just happened.

Anyway, I can't listen to Madden anymore, not only is he on a roll with dumb comments tonight be he sounds like he just smoked about 6 packs before doing the show tonight. Ugh...

MacGuyV 12-10-2006 10:35 PM

Re: Saints @ Cowboys

Haha yeah that was funny.
I always sound gay for Madden but whatever: 3rd&goal for 2: "run if you're going to go for it, throw if you're not". Maybe sounds obvious but it's a logical point that most announcers (and even offensive coaches) fail to grasp.

MacGuyV 12-10-2006 10:41 PM

Re: Saints @ Cowboys

Good, give them the down back. Clearly a catch.

Needle77 12-10-2006 10:42 PM

Re: Saints @ Cowboys

One rule I don't understand, why can't coaches challenge in the last 2 minutes of the 2nd quarter? I understand the 4th quarter, kind of, but if they have two challenges let them use it then, you allow it the 28 minutes beforehand.

edit: Incomplete? Why?

Is that a push? Saints get 16 seconds but minus 13 yards?

Edit: forgot, Saints have the MVP on their team.
