Re: Coaches All American Team
Is it bad that I would be ok with the Vikings losing out if it meant we get CJ?
|
Re: Coaches All American Team
Wow, Johnnie Lee Higgins over Dwayne Jarrett. Interesting.
Also, I heard Reggie Nelson was like a god at safety. Is that not the case? |
Re: Coaches All American Team
WTF @ voting on a 4-2-5 defense?

Re: Coaches All American Team
Thing is some All-Americans pull up some of the players more than others. Troy Smith who will win the heisman's value is probally more than the 3 players Michigan has combined and this coming from a Michigan fan. Hall got torched for the most part of the tOSU game. Michigan has specialist, they are good but the team as a whole is obviously not as good as tOSU, atleast as of this moment.
All, the All-American says is we have great players, arguably the best at 3 positions. Doesn't mean they make more impact then the 1 in the middle for another team. I love Henne but he's no Troy Smith. |

Re: Coaches All American Team
HEY! I thought people said Troy Smith was undersized. I didn't know his dimensions until now, 6'1" 215 is a good size.
|
Re: Coaches All American Team
Have you actually looked at size of recent draft picks. He's actually short in comparison to guys like Ben, Eli, Alex Smith, etc. He's on par with Brees and Vick who are on the short side of NFL QBs.
|
Re: Coaches All American Team
I didn't find the average of all the starting QB's in the league, but it looked like it was around 6'3". I don't think 6'1" is that much shorter.
|
Re: Coaches All American Team
2" can be a ton when we're talking about 6'7" linemen on both sides of the ball.
Certainly you can be short and still be awesome, but Brees has had some problems this year with balls batted at the line. It also forces bigger drop backs which can lead to more sacks, especially with a mobile QB like Smith. It's nowhere near a damning trait, but every little bit counts in the NFL, and the league is getting bigger. |
Re: Coaches All American Team
jack, you are the uber stat man around here. What is the average heights for QB's and linemen in the NfL?
