Is this inappropriate?
 

OK so over Thanksgiving, me and AEKDBet's Chair are going to New Jersey and AEKDBet will be in North Carolina. So, our awesome cat, Optimus Prime, will not have anyone to take care of him for ~6 days. I'd really rather not pay to have him go to a pet hotel. One of our friends lives in the same apartment building as us, and I know she likes cats. Optimus will be fine on his own in terms of food/water if I leave extra, but the litter box will need to be scooped.

So, I'm thinking of asking her if I can pay her to come and scoop it twice while I'm gone. Keep in mind she lives about 40 feet from us so it would not be a logistical hassle for her. AEKDBet thinks this is weird. So, OOT, settle it for me:

FFK - you left out AEK's reasoning...

OOT - AEK hooked up with this girl...she wanted more, he didn't. Shortly there after, was the train wreck when he took her to the GT-Miami game and she got wasted and was all over him and he was really irritated and almost left her at the game. You know in "The Office" how kelly is all over ryan...like that. So AEK feeling weird is understandable, but I still vote not weird.

She's also been my friend since before AEKDBet hooked up with her, and I've known her since college. We used to work together too. Of course I would be doing the asking.

like you would not believe...

at night he's lively like a small dog. in the day he sleeps -- but wakes up occasionally (occasionally = every 30 mins) to eat followed by a poop and then back to the couch.

if the litter box fills up he moves on to his number one target...AEK's bath mat.

Buy a second box. Fill with litter. Come back, put box & all into garbage bag & throw it away. Problem solved.

i've been a cat sitter before, my sister has, and my mother has done this as well. (mom did it for free)

my aunt has both come to my house to cat sit daily for a week+ and also taken our cat in and let it stay in one of her spare rooms (both free)

When I was introduced to her at the bar that night, the conversation turned to jobs/major, and I mentioned that I originally wanted to be an actuary (majored in Actuarial Science).

She replies "Oh, like working with birds".

I say "No, you're thinking of aviary".

She replies "No, I'm pretty sure actuary has something to do with birds."

In summation, I'm not sure I'd trust this girl to pick up my newspaper, much less cater to my beloved pet.
