2,000 BB \"downswing\" with graphs!

Edit: Does anyone have data for what kind of BB/hand AA-TT, AKs/AKo, etc, should produce in six-max limit games?

The stretch from hand 115K to 180K is particularly amusing, don't miss it!

Well, either I forgot how to play poker sometime near the beginning of this year or else I am the unluckiest poker player in the history of the game.

Over my last 200,000 hands, my big hands are doing...
AA: 1.9 BB/hand
KK: 1.1 BB/hand
QQ: 1.3 BB/hand
JJ: 1.0 BB/hand
TT: 0.6 BB/hand
AKs: 0.9 BB/hand
AKo: 0.6 BB/hand

I sure do run good.

This is mostly $2/$4 six max, $3/$6 six max and $5/$10 six max. $3/$6 is the bulk of it.

The last 85,000 hands of $3/$6 only (there is no significance to the 85K number, it's just what I ended up with when I set the date range in Poker Patterns)

You'd think I would at least have occasional big upswings like the other fish, but nooo...

At least I consistently get huge amounts of money in the pot when I am way, way, way ahead. That's the important thing, right?

How in the hell are you still playing limit poker after this?

omfg that graph hurts my brain, and I've had a 150,000+ hand breakeven stretch.

I'm going to guess you're still up money because of rakeback, but I don't think you are a winning player. Get a job.

Thanks for the tip. In the five(ish) years I've been playing online, this is the first time I haven't been able to beat any game at any limit up to $10/$20 on any online site I've played. These 200,000 hands are significantly less than a year of play and are only a fraction of the total I've played online.

OP,

Either quit poker or try NL or something. It's quite obvious that you suck at LHE.

I refer you to my previous post.

Maybe I will go back to no limit. I've never had a significant losing stretch at online no limit, but I've probably got < 200,000 hands TOTAL at that.

the dude seems to have some sense in him, so it seems pretty logical for him not to want to move up at any time during this stretch. There isn't even a prolonged "HAY I am beating 3-6!" period.

Also, LOL @ 180k hands of 3-6. Damn.

Actually, it's only been the last 8-9 months that I've been losing and only at Absolute. I'm obviously a loser in this particular game but I also feel like I've been running worse this year then I ever have in the past. I am sure KK should be better than 1.1/hand and I am pretty sure Aces should at least crack 2.

WTF isn't this standard at Absolute? I thought having between a 0 and 1 lose-rate was normal?

The only thing that surprises me is that you put yourself through it for so long. Enjoying the misery or what!?

LOL, maybe it's my inner masochist. I'll tell you, I don't FEEL like I'm enjoying it. Anyway, my loss rate has gone above 1BB/100, now. If you look at the graph, you can see the precipitous fall I took.

For the first 25,000 hands or so, I was winning at 1.5BB/100. Then, over the course of the course of the next 25,000 hands, that win rate dropped to about .4BB/100 and from there to what you see in these 200,000 hands.

Sorry, this is all I have. I had a couple of PartyPoker databases with a total of about 210,000 hands, but they are long gone. Also, I didn't even own Poker Tracker for like the first three years (or more) that I played online.

It's Absolute, this is standard. You are still ahead with bonuses and rakeback. Don't mislead BBV like that into thinking you are super fish who has $6k+ to burn.

OP, I suggest that you cap the flop & turn then open fold the river. It's a better approach than how you're currently playing.

You're not even close. I have put EXACTLY $155 ($55 of my own money, $100 from someone for helping him load a truck) into online poker and I have been playing on it ever since.

Anyway, I found an old Party database and I will put up screenshots in a minute.

Are there any longterm winners in the 2-4 to 5-10 6max games at Absolute? I didn't think so?

SpaceAce 10-21-2006 01:59 PM

Re: 2,000 BB \"downswing\" with graphs!

As requested, an old Party graph. This is mostly $2/$4, $3/$6 and $5/$10 with a little $10/$20 six-max, 4,000-5,000 hands of micro limit and a couple thousands hands of no limit.

http://www.tripsixes.com/tempfiles/notsoouch.jpg

I have no idea why this graph starts at -190BB. I don't think I was ever down 190BB at any point during these 130,000 hands. I thought about editing the start date to make it start at 0 but that seemed dishonest, so this is the whole database.

I just checked my database. Speaking of $3/$6 only, out of players with whom I have played 1,500+ hands (there are 30), ten of them are "winners" of anywhere from 0.5BB/100 - 2BB/100. Two or three of those people are almost certainly not actually beating the game from my experience.

Out of players that I have played 2,200+ hands with, there are exactly four winners, none of them really winning by a significant amount.
