5/10 NL, My hand becomes a bluff

SB has 800, I cover. Game was full ring beut just got short, like this hand. Folded to SB who raises to 40. He seems pretty straightforward. I call with 88.

Flop: QQ3
Pot: 95ish

He bets 70, I call

Turn: 4
Pot: 235ish

He checks, I bet 140, he calls

River: 4
Pot: 510ish

He checks, I bet 450

Is this spewing or a good bluff?

what the hell.... what is your image??

Check the turn.

Check the river.....

He might fold hands like JJ-99 but I think this whole hand is bad. Why are you making a hand with SD value into a bluff for no reason?

Once the villian calls the turn bet doesn't this take away all showdown value for hero's hand?

To me this is one of those gotta know the opponent things. It's seems like villian has 10's or JJ, it's just a matter of will he be pushed off of it on the river.

He did have 1010/JJ right?

If I check the turn, what's my plan to a river bet? Fold?

Also, what hand checks calls the turn and check calls the river? This would be a very weirdly played hand if he has a queen. Will non queen hands fold?

i like the turnbet,
the chance is small but when u got the right image he might lay down a better hand here. U also protect from getting outdrawn by AK AJ ...

the river.... i dont like it , id give up after his call

nah, i like position so i think the its worth concealing your hand until later. If thats not enough I want a chance to spike an 8 and if i 3bet and he has something big then i miss out. I also dont 3bet A9 here either :9

RESULTS

In all honesty, I checked through on this river, but I felt like a dirty whore inside when I did it. When he called the turn, I thought to myself, crap, this guy likely has 1010 or JJ. I then threw on a skirt and checked through the river to see JJ. I feel like JJ folds here. I'm not sure if KK or AA fold here which is the real reason to check through, but then again AA or KK might bet the turn.

Re: RESULTS

I'm the only one who likes this bluff? I have a very tight, straightforward image and I play full ring, so maybe that's the reason.

Once he check-calls the turn and checks river, he's not going to have the Queen very often. I'm going to fire that river for $400 almost always.

The hands he is ahead of right (turn) now will almost always fold to his bet(s) and you don't risk the chance of being bluffed on the river or drawn out on. I don't think 88 is a bluffcatcher here either.

Re: RESULTS

I had a relatively tight image here, but the other key thing is that although the game is now maybe 5 handed, it had been playing full and I still think people have a full ring mentality where they are likely laying down non-premium hands here. If Villain is thinking at all (which is seems like he is, cause he checked the turn), what kind of a hand can he put me on that he beats?

A bluff.

Re: RESULTS

you could easily have floated this flop with a2c or atleast a pp since it's unlikely he hit that flop. with the right image it might work.

You're neglecting to acknowledge that you need "the right image" to be suspected of floating with A2c. Villain won't just randomly deduce this.

push river.

your hand is never good once he calls the turn.
