Re: 2 BEATS, A BRAG, and some variance
you were 200bb deep right? That is one of the most insane calls I have ever seen. Were you on mega tilt? WTFWTFWTF
I mean I got called by 3rd pair for 100bb today and almost crapped my pants. |
Re: 2 BEATS, A BRAG, and some variance
Standard. He left because he had to make some ramen for dinner. No biggie, just water, boil it, put it in the cup, maybe add some parmesan, a few crackers, saltines are good, bottle of YooHoo to wash it down. Standard.

Re: 2 BEATS, A BRAG, and some variance
What the hell did you put him on 9cTc, 7c6c, 6c5c?
|
Re: 2 BEATS, A BRAG, and some variance
im obviously not gonna go in depth into my logic (a bit of its player dependent and good chance ill play him again), but fwiw i was fairly sure i was winning on river.
|
Re: 2 BEATS, A BRAG, and some variance
he went to go shoot himself. there is no other possibility.

Re: 2 BEATS, A BRAG, and some variance
Hand 2 is sexy, I dig it
[ QUOTE ] since when does calling 180bbs w/ 4th pair cause some1 to leave? [/ QUOTE ] When it makes them realize they're going to get skull-[censored] if they stay around longer |

but fwiw i was fairly sure i was winning on river. [/ QUOTE ] Does that mean you would have called with J9? Or that 22 and 33 are key? |

Re: 2 BEATS, A BRAG, and some variance
Durr,
Have you ever considered play some limit hold'em? I believe your philosophy over never folding a pair under any circumstances would be ideally suited to this game. Best, Dean |

The second hand is so unreal. I second
[ QUOTE ] hand 2 is why i'll never be a high stakes pro [/ QUOTE ] |

[/ QUOTE ] GASITT is a good friend of mine, and oftentimes able to stop playing someone if he thinks he might be getting outplayed. I imagine he quit because he realized he got outplayed on that pot (rather than being like "look at that donkey calling off huge bets with bottom pair") and didn't want to play you with your stack that deep vs him (woulda been about 40k to 36k it appears). |

[/ QUOTE ] I haven't actually talked to Gassitt yet but I'm about 80% certain this is the case. When he had the big stack advantage he was probably willing to play (or maybe even felt he had an edge), and then this hand happened and that entirely changed. He's a pretty mature guy and able to admit to himself most of the time if he no longer has the best of it (more so than a lot of high stakes players, anyway, who let ego get in the way). |

Re: 2 BEATS, A BRAG, and some variance
if you suspected you were ahead, then i don't get why you didn't make a play on the turn. or maybe you didn't have full confidence until the river (based on how he reacted to the Ace)?
cool hand though. |
Re: 2 BEATS, A BRAG, and some variance
2 is obv tilt call
|
Re: 2 BEATS, A BRAG, and some variance
I would be afraid of him bluffing with a better hand on hand 2...
|
Re: 2 BEATS, A BRAG, and some variance
I think the call on hand #2 is quite awful.
No disrespect but you're losing that hand far more times than you're winning it. |
