Re: Going out of Business -Database Sale

So you are going to give us a cheaper price on a database that is mainly on US players who will no longer be playing there? Wow!

Re: Going out of Business -Database Sale

anybody else have a pokertracker db for sale? it's for academic research in risk theory and volatility pricing. so any site, any game, any stakes (the higher the better though since the players make less stupid mistakes) works. i'll also consider dropping a finder's fee (stars transfer) if you point me in the right direction. pm or post here... don't care.

note - i'm not going to use it to play poker or study people's screennames or that kind of sht. just need a large volume of hands to query.

Im my opinion the value of the information has changed.

The the data has 2 values..

1- the database has current information on specific players at the 10-20NL level. Now that Party has made the decision to cut off American players the database wont be much help in learning how specific opponents play at the game- as alot of them wont be playing at Party anymore. Also it had value to a player on Party moving up from say 3-6NL or 5-10NL, to take a shot at the 10/20 NL. The landscape has changed at Party Poker, so the data has lots some of its value in this regard.

2- The other value to the database, is to learn the game of a successful player at this level plays and implements a loose agressive style. IMHO the database is good for that still and some of the concepts learned can be applied at other sites.

I think that the data has less value now, hence the new price. I am not wholesaleing it, only charging what its worth.

Ehhh, I wouldnt call you loose-aggressive though I guess your strategy works too.

All: I bought this when it was first for sale and have found it pretty useful, but I had my laptop stolen a few days ago. FE set me up with a new download right away, I wanted to say thanks and to let the forum know that he's quick and reliable. I know this sounds like an ebay comment, but A+++.

I can't imagine who wouldn't take $150 for about 5-10 minutes worth of work. I also wouldn't say he's trying too hard. It looks like he made this one thread and kept it in here.

Point taken. Didn't think it would be that popular. Seems to me that the practical value of studying a pros pt database is quite small compared to the value you can get from reading the advice of pros on 2+2. Spending the time and money on strippers will probably bring you more immediate pleasure and have more beneficial longterm effects on your game.
