September was a crazy month, and unfortunately it ended with the Frist legislation getting through. Hopefully my optimism is correct and online poker, even though it may take a hit, will still be very profitable for a long time to come. Perhaps it will even expand further in the coming years due to Spanish, Italian, and Asian involvement, or the enforcement of the entire process will be a joke. We will see. For now, good luck in grinding out more money in October.

Goal: Make 10k from only Asian players, to prove life after Frist is viable.

Make 20k on top of that from all u other bastards.

Buy a new desktop this week and another 20" monitor so I can 8 table, and then hit this month super hard to the tune of like 75k hands at 400nl, 600nl, and HU.

Oops just drunk tilted off 1k HU playing 70/65/12. In other words, I raised a lot and lost it all with TP vs. 2 pair, 2 pair vs. a straight, and finally 2 busted draws vs. some crap. It's almost like I got no respect there at the end. Huh.

I change my goal to 31k.

-at least 30k hands (considering i avg. about 15k/month) this will be a big step up.

-make the perminent move to 600nl

-excercise/eat better

-keep working on reducing tilt

I'm giving some thought to doing the same. I feel like i'll be able to put a lot more hands in playing NL400 games, and more hands + better winrate should be more than enough to make up for lower stakes. That, and much less variance. Not a bad deal in my book.

Not to say I won't play any 1k games, I don't want to get rusty, but I feel like I play a lot better at the higher stakes with fewer tables.


So I guess my October goals are:
- Play many hands of NL400/600 with lots of tables
- Play some hands of NL1000/2000 with just a few tables
- Play at least a few solid live sessions too.
- Make papes.
- Turn all of my students into ballers

Oh, and also give Niagara the business, obviously.

That is overrated I played like 15 donkaments of over 100 dollars including the 1k on Stars and damn they take no skill. Nearly every one of them I got out and some KK to AK BS preflop. AWFULNESS. I spent like 4k on tournaments and cashed maybe once. Tournaments make you want to blow your eyes out.

That said, I'll see you all in the 2500 event tomorrow.. I'm thinking we can talk about how we're doing on the October thread, or create our own in MSNL. I know that it's a tournament, but I don't give a damn about the MTT people, and I wouldn't mind knowing how you guys are doing or whatever. I'll be sweating a bunch of people that I have %s of, but I want to check on here for updates hopefully one of us can FT this stuff, because FT means MSNL &gt;&gt;&gt; HSNL.

Hell yes, I want my eight hundred thousand dollars in united states currency.

Goal - 40K hands, tilt-free, $20K at 5/10 and 10/20.

September I didn't even break 7K for the month - a complete disgrace. Ran bad and took some breaks, but I'm on about a 40K break even - time to run good again.

Anybody interested in swapping some %s of each other in the tourney tomorrow? I'm probably willing to swap up to like 25% total, just to reduce some variance/make it interesting.

(Obviously the offer is nullified if we get put at the same table, cause that wouldn't be cool)

If you're capable of playing a more open, aggressive style very well, then probably yes.

But I do think that 17/14 or whatever is certainly profitable, if you're playing against the fish. And obviously, you should be.

I played pretty good in Septemper, but still it feels like I got outplayed by bunch of 2+2ers. Like Billyjex, Duh, wwwBTHEREcom(if he is 2+2er) and RikaKazak. So outplaying 2+2ers is something im trying to concentrate in October ;-)

-I dont like setting money goals, but if I could win enough to cover my expenses I would be happy.

-6-10 table more, in Septemper I was lazy and often played just couple tables at the time.

-Stay away from limit holdem.

I think the whole VPIP/PFR thing is kinda stupid. Just play the style you are most comfortable with.
If you are happy playing 17.5/14 trying to play 26/22 or w/e will likely lead to disaster.

Last month I focused too much on playing X hands and my winrate suffered. I did manage to earn 10K rakeback which was sweet but now my ego is a little fractured and this month I would like to win at &gt;6 BB/100 again. My new 30" should help me focus while still playing a lot of tables I hope [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I guess 50K hands at 6BB/100, and yeah more time at the gym etc like everyone else says
