November Meet Up at the Muck

Is there interest in trying to do a meet up at the Muck in the Seattle area sometime during the Holiday's? I'm in the process of trying finding a weekend to come home that isn't T-day and am wondering what people's plans and interest level are?

I haven't set anything yet, but I'd likely be game for hitting up the Muck on either the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving. If that whole weekend isn't avaiable for you, well, I guess you won't get to meet the man, the myth, and the legend.

It's a possibility. I'm down in Eugene, but if I'm up for a road trip around that time, it'd surely be fun.

I won't be able to plan that far ahead though so I'd more likley be making a decision far closer to the actual trip.

The biggest problem is that if I go on a non-busy time I can fly for free via my sister who works for an airline. If I have to actually, you know, buy the ticket then I'm going to be pressed to come up with a couple hundy for the game...

Ah, I see. Well, I won't be back in Seattle anytime that isn't around a holiday because I actually have to pay for my flights. And if I'm flying anywhere just to play poker, my destination sure as hell won't be WA state.

Understandable. Obviously I don't have to be there for a meetup that Friday or Saturday to happen if there is enough interest, but if it looks like a good turn out I may break out the plastic for the tickets.

Probably should have made it clearer that this is an opportunity for Seattle and environ 2+2 microers to do a little meet up. Beleive me, if I didn't live across the street I wouldn't pay money to fly to the Auburn area either.

Biggest poker room in WA. Where I make most of my money these days.

I'm down to sit on Wookie's right ("chop? Ha ha, there will be no chop!") during T-giving weekend.

Edit: And since I'm frequently there anyway, if some other folks want to get together at another time too, I'm up for it.

Like Wookie, I can probably make Friday or Saturday after T day. I'll be coming up from Portland.

You still playing the 4/8 Iggy, or have you moved up to sit on Bernie's right?

Ignignokt 09-18-2006 02:55 PM

Re: November Meet Up at the Muck

Still 4/8, due to the fact that the Muck doesn't offer frequent deposit bonuses.

Re: November Meet Up at the Muck

Say, speaking of meet ups not in WA, Buck had mentioned wanting a second Vegas trip this late May or early June. I think I could float something around that time barring some conference I haven't heard of yet, and I'd just as soon get the ball rolling on that sooner rather than later so I can use my frequent flier miles for the trip. Any of you youngsters just getting out of college then, or anyone else interested?

Holla! I graduate this May so I might could consider an early June venture.

I'm probably going to be in the Olympia area for most of thanksgiving week, so if this happens I'm down.

How often are you there? Have we ever played together?

I don't think my definition of "frequently" is the same as yours.

I've stepped it up to about once a week, when I don't wuss out on the way there and stop at Lil's instead.

I can't say I've noticed anyone at my tables who I'd classify as particularly good (although I've made a couple of quick table changes when I sensed a lowered earn a-coming), and I'm not sure what you look like (last month or so I've been working on a moustache/goatee/beard thingy in prep for making all the other Captain Jack Sparrows cry this Halloween, so I might stand out a bit).

Re: November Meet Up at the Muck

I live in the area and have never been to the Muck, but I would certainly be up for it. My BR isn't exactly set up for it, but I have disposable income fortunately. I have been still muddling around the 3/6 kill at Red Wind, and have slowly been building a BR, but its not big enough to be considered a true BR for 4/8 or 3/6 for that matter.

However, I am never nervous to sit at these tables. I know the ROR is greater, but c'est la vie. If I ruin, I ruin, and can start over. Unfortunately 3/6 is the smallest game I can find.

Pen me in.

Lil's is a good room. Even though I haven't been there in years. I hear they remodeled it a bit.

This doesn't mean you haven't played with me... Lately if you follow the trail of empty chipracks, I'm at the end of it. Kind of the opposite of the pot o' gold at the rainbow. Unfortunately, I've been in the role as the leprechaun for a couple weeks.

Not sure how I'd describe my look. It was much easier when I had long, bleached hair.

Bumping threads is cool.

I heard that they're expanding the Muck's poker room, and it sounds like it'll be done in time for our T-day weekend jamboree. They'll have 30 tables (17 right now, I think). No word on any other renovations. Maybe Bernie knows more.

If they have, it must have really sucked before. Well, actually it's not bad. Just cramped (and they shouldn't be, considering they never seem to use all of their tables, even on a Saturday night). What really needs a good remodeling there is the service. I wouldn't call it an especially well-run room (management always seems to have too much to handle at any one time), but it's the biggest one immediately adjacent to Seattle, and AFAIK it's the area's only cardroom primarily dedicated to poker, which counts for something.

Side note: Lil's is the only room where I've had players specifically request that I don't railbird their game while I'm waiting for a table (and considering there's really nowhere to wait other than beside a table, it's kind of a stupid request).

Expanded room AND no smoke? I'd better get my flight booked.

Plus...PLUS...if you play for 4 days straight while you're here you'll qualify for their December $100K freeroll!

I think that's what the guy with the massive chip stack was doing last weekend.

Supposed to be expanding to 30 tables. Not sure when it's due to be done. I know they want it done by their $100k freeroll.

Lil's is small, but it's a nice place. Though I haven't been there in about 2 years I haven't heard anything bad about it. If you want cramped, play some of the vegas rooms. The problem with Lil's is that they can't expand it. The waiting lists suck.

It usually happens in rooms with bigger stakes. It's happened at mucks a few times.
