Well, seems the Sabres.com staff made an oopsie today.

Camp fires up today with the rooks, and full camp starts tomorrow. First pre-season game is Monday against the Leafs. Also the TV schedule is out, and every game will be televised, thanks to Versus picking up 7 games this year.

Pretty sad as he was coming into his own at the end of last season.

I dont mind the new jersey and I plan to buy merchandise with the logo on it just so it stays around, mostly out of spite to the retards who are crying about the fact they changed to something other than the original Sabres uni.

If novotny and vanek can pick it up, i like the sabres chances- they're so deep i think they're built for the playoffs. I expect Ottawa to win the northeast again and the Sabres to take the 4th or 5th seed.

I'm not really sure how I feel about 'em. They could've done worse I guess - at least they didn't pull a Bills and do a major downgrade.
RE: the old blue & gold - the white jerseys were fantastic but the blue duds were ugly. I would've liked to see them go back to those old home shirts and use them as the current road shirts (since home teams wear dark now). As for the home shirts, I really like the alternate reds last year but guess I'm in the minority on that.

I was in the love with the reds too. I think it may just that I love the SABRES in the logo. Heh. Very frustrating to me. Sabres fans are really at odds about this, and it's taking the attention from the on-ice product, which is not good in my eyes.

The way I see it, everyone hated the red and black jerseys/logo to start with. It grew on everyone, as will this one. But you are right, no matter what jersey they are wearing, they are still our buffalo sabres and they will be our team no matter what the jersey looks like.

I like these jerseys much more than the red/black... the 3rd jersey was ok though. It's too bad they couldn't have just updated the old logo, b/c I really like the new colors.

i like the white/black home jersey of the last couple of seasons. i own it, and i'll wear it to the bills games when they play in rochester. i didn't care much about the red/black ones. i hate the new unis.

Great win tonight after two terrible periods to start the season. They gutted out a strong 3rd/OT, and Miller was sensational. I'd like to see a little more from Briere(although he picked it up late), and it looks like the Peters experiment is going to fail.

A bit sloppy at times, but a win is a win anyway I can take it. Briere's shootout goal may have been worth $5 million. Top shelf where mama hides the cookies!!

I like the new jerseys, I would love them if the logo didn't suck ass

This team is something else. They played terrible for the first 2 periods. Then the refs started causing havoc and they are down 4-2 with 5 to go. Briere gets pissed and instantly scores, Afinogenov scores in the dying seconds, and they win another shootout. Just a great gutcheck win, and Miller stood on his head again. He's 5/5 in the shootout so far this year.

I was talking to my friend in Rochester who was watching this game and giving me updates while I was stuck watching the Bruins get blown out. Sounded like I missed a great game. I'm seriously considering Center Ice too.

i saw the last half- that game was amazing.

great goaltending and speed from both teams, unfortuantely for the sabres, their d and power play looked pretty bad so far.

those slew of penalties was pretty rough. The numminen one i think you let him get away w/ if its 5 on 3, and the one after that i thought was pretty ridiculous too. The non call on vaneks breakaway was one where i think based on what they were calling the sabres on, should've been called.

also- did not know afinogenov could shoot like that.

Pretty tough schedule to open the season(Carolina, Montreal, Ottawa), and to come out 3-0 is pretty spectacular. Another gritty win tonight, they had nothing left in the tank after the first period. Couple clutch goals and solid Biron goaltending save the day. Gonna be a long wait until Friday and the Red Wings..

Pominville has been playing with Briere most of the time, and he's been getting quite a bit of PK time as well.

Another terrible performance tonight, they still haven't put in a good sixty minute effort, and they are now 4-0 with 3 shootout wins. Miller stands on his head again(except the ridiculous Paul Robinson-esque play in the first).

Miller is 8/9 on the shootout this season, and had 41 saves in regular play as well. Hopefully, they get their act together soon, the goalies have earned some support.

I'm trying to remember my last favorite team that could sleepwalk thru half a game and still win just because they're that damn good....maybe the '93 Bills. It's a pretty good feeling. [img]/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]

You said it, McGahee. Because I'm a soccer fan, the last team that was like that for me was probably the 2003-04 Arsenal squad. When the Sabres actually wake up and start playing, the entire NHL better go run for cover. They have not played anything like a full 60-minute good game...they have generally looked so-so to awful for 30-40 minutes of the game and have put together 15-20 minute game-saving runs. Hopefully last night's power play performance means the 1-for-21 PP in the first 3 games was just a slight hiccup.

I actually thought last night was going to be the first loss even before the game started...the Sabres were coming off a too-long-for-this-early-in-the-season 5-day layoff, going into a building where they traditionally have never done well, against a team that won their last game 9-2. They still pulled it out even though they frankly played like horse excrement. This is extremely good news for Sabres fans. Finally.

Because the game was played in Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, where they have more homers than Barry Bonds facing an 8-year-old pitcher in a Little League park. With the Wings, if it ain't from Detroit, it doesn't count.

Another pathetic performance in the first against the Rangers. Down 2-0 after 15 minutes again. Now, it's 3-2 Buffalo after one. Thanks for putting Kevin Weekes in!
