$10 deep stack Saturday - How would you play this flush

I loved the way this guy was betting he was giving me perfect odds to draw for my flush. I almost just called the river bet but I decided to raise to see where I stood.

Please put a real raise in on the river.

Why aren't we pushing this river?

Eh. By river, a couple of small straights, smaller or higher flush, sets, weak aces, two pair. You're not beat nearly enough here, so raising to ~1.2-1.5 should be fine on river.

Edit: Probably 'cause it's a deepstack and we aren't always ahead here, Imrahil. We want to get value, not raise him outta his seat.

Well atleast throw in a couple more min-raises on the river. I think it's worth risking like 800 more here. Also, villain min raised the flop. He seems like he had a good hand on the flop and is continuing this on the river.

EDIT: Oh, what I meant is basically why aren't we raising more on the river, why are we just calling? I don't mean to push on the guy's 400 bet but to try and get all our money in at some point on the river.

Yeah, that'd narrow the range quite a bit based on that read. But he's betting this weakish then minraising OP on river. I'd not discount stronger flushes completely here. Either that or a set probably.

Re: $10 deep stack Saturday - How would you play this flush

So his line is:

Preflop: minraise
Flop: minreraise
Turn: bet 1/4 pot
River: bet 1/4 pot/minreraise

How had this guy been playing previously? This looks like a typical donkey line with a monster. If he wasn't doing much preflop raising, I'd say he has AA/AT/TT (AK-AJ wouldn't reraise the flop and KK-JJ wouldn't reraise the river). If he's raising preflop more often, this could easily be a flush -- maybe ace high, maybe not. I doubt it's a straight since the river didn't complete any OESDs.

The less he's been raising preflop, the more inclined I am to get more chips in on the river. If he's playing tight preflop, the only thing I'm really scared of is AdKd.

Doesn't the way I bet look like I was drawing to a flush??

I bet the min. that I needed to to tell me where I was at. This is a deep stack tourney I have time why would I want to risk my whole stack this early with out having the nuts.

This was the range I put him on as well. I figured if he had the set or two pair he would have bet stronger. His betting almost gave me perfect odds for drawing to my flush. Why would someone bet that way.

Well, would you prefer unexploitable opponents?

Re: $10 deep stack Saturday - How would you play this flush

So the guy had A7d for the nut flush. I felt very confident in my read of the situation. I was fairly sure I was beat before I made the raise on the river. I think I was fortunate that he only did a small reraise so that calling was an easy decision.

Thanks for the feed back.
