Re: Your 5 Favorite Movies

i'm just gonna say that sublime's list is questionable. just throwing that out there.

my list in no particular order:

Sin City
Casino
The Shawshank Redemption
Little Miss Sunshine
Rounders (even though it's not an actual good movie, it's about poker and is very quotable)

rounding out the top eight are Goodfellas, Crash, and Office Space.

edit: #1 is Snakes on a Plane.

blah that was supposed to be edited before anyone saw it. i hate looking like a prick on internet message boards. the other three movies are probably fine, but the two that i mentioned just weren't even top movies of their respective years, probably.

2 Fast 2 Furious does contain gratuitous Eva Mendes content though. forgiveness please

LMS was awesome. there's LOL comedy and tear-jerking drama, which aren't so common in the same movie. it might not stay in the top five, but it was just the best movie i've seen recently.

My top 5 listed above are amazing films. Also if you liked 'Layer Cake', Guy Richie's two previous films 'Snatch', and 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' are far superior.

I rewatched Sin City today, and it's rewatchability is pretty high. Bruce Willis was really impressive, normally I'm not much of a fan but Hartigan was pretty awesome.

KOTLP 08-20-2006 11:47 PM

Re: Your 5 Favorite Movies

Rewatchability (is that a word?) is a big factor in terms of personal favorites. Many that I would consider top all time wouldn't make my fav list. It's so hard to limit to 5, so I'll just list comedies.

The Big Lebowski
Rushmore
Office Space
Caddyshack
Zero Effect

Tennenbaum 08-20-2006 11:47 PM

Re: Your 5 Favorite Movies

Shawshank Redemption
Goonies
Fried Green Tomatoes
The Big Lebowski
Stand by Me / The Breakfast Club (tie)

This is really hard...I LOVE watching movies. I could sit inside and drink/smoke/eat and watch movies for days on end.

#1 Favorite - Field of Dreams

Next 4, no particular order:
Shawshank
Major League
Weird Science
Back to Future

As the subject of the thread said, I listed my five favorite movies, not necessarily the movies I think are the best movies of all time.

Lawrence of Arabia
Schindler's List
The Shawshank Redemption
The Godfather I
American Beauty

Just saw American Beauty for the first time last week and I really enjoyed it. It and The Godfather could probably be other movies, though. The other three are set.

This thread is reminding me how badly I want to see Little Miss Sunshine.

i was not abused physically. the cat was, but not me.

i was introduced to sublime the band in early 2003 and immediately fell in love. i felt taking on the bands name as my online handle was the least i could do, for the lyrics opened up my eyes.
