Background? Why should we be gleeful at this kid's demise?

The scary thing to me is that kids like this will either quit poker forever or go on to be world class players. I guess there's a sad third option: become a gambling addict loser. I hope he does stick by his promises and quits for a year or two...

It is sad, I agree, but anyone who feels sorry for a person like HIV is not being honest with themselves, because the only reason poker is such an easy game to win tons of money at is people like HIV- young, cocky, arrogant morons with their parents' credit cards.

Seeing him here and watching the poor play, I was pretty sure the variance coaster was on the way dooooooooown where he belonged.

I think he put too much stock in your guys "a monkey could beat 100NL" comments. because from the looks of his play and this thread, he is not that good.

and yes he was a cocky d-bag and if he had more success he would have gotten worse and worse.

Ah, didn't know that. Here in Iowa you can claim any loss. If you win a score at a casino and get a W2-G you can claim loses to offset those taxes.
