Re-min-raise on Flop 100 NL
No real reads, playing table on autopilot. Is the re-min-raise a good idea? Under my understanding people can't fold to minraises and this makes it easier to get all the $$ into the pot and minimize the chance of villain folding something like AJ, KJ, QJ, or even TT, JJ.
Calling his flop checkraise keeps the pot kinda small and 3-betting might scare him away. Hero ($115.35) UTG+1 ($97) Preflop: Hero is CO with 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Re: Re-min-raise on Flop 100 NL
I reraise big. He doesn't believe you have anything. I've had AJ/KJ call a push on these flops.
However, flop is superdry. So a slowplay isn't 100% wrong, if you think villain will fold. I don't like minreraise because he'll call a bigger reraise likely if he'll call a small one. |
Re: Re-min-raise on Flop 100 NL
I get what you're doing ... it's going to make your turn push a smaller overall bet ... but I think I'd just call the $14 and plan on pushing the turn.

Re: Re-min-raise on Flop 100 NL
How big of a reraise would you make against his min-check-raise? Is something like $35 a better amount? There must be some kind of sweet spot that maximizes EV.

i just call here and push the turn if he bets.

Re: Re-min-raise on Flop 100 NL
this is pretty bad bro. you get $14 extra in the pot and basically turn your hand face up. he's not folding a jack here usually, but any 3bet basically reps an overpair or better.
you have three streets to stack him and the pot will be 40 on the turn. if he checks bet 30 to 35 and you've set up an easy river push. |

Re: Re-min-raise on Flop 100 NL
Then I'd probably go for the installment plan ... half on turn, rest on river ... provided the turn card did not open the possibility of mega-draws.

[/ QUOTE ] dude you have a set. he either has a J or better or some underpair that he's not going to pay too much with. if he has a weak jack you've certainly made your job tougher with that lame min3bet. so the pot should be like 50 on the turn. if he bets 15-20, just make it 50. he'll be able to call that. push river if he donks again or checks or whatever he does. |
Re: Re-min-raise on Flop 100 NL
If he bets 1/3 pot on the turn, just raise to about $50 like CAterp said. He will be committed tocalling all in on the river regardless.

Re: Re-min-raise on Flop 100 NL
Alright, looks like I'm too paranoid villain is going to find a fold.
In the hand villain called the flop, called half his stack on the turn, and the rest on the river. He had QQ and pushed an A river. |
