As a Duke fan and a JJ fan, this disappoints me. Poor decision making on JJ's part.

"Among the teams reportedly interested in Redick is Houston, which has the No. 8 pick."

Isn't that a little high for him? I think he would be a great fit there since Yao will give him lots and lots of open 3s.

You think that's high? Billy Knight is saying that he wants to lock Sheldon Williams up with the 5th pick. AHHH I HATE YOU BILLY KNIGHT!

I guess the roadblock wasn't set up inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. Poor Red Dick.

Yeah, he couldn't get away from the officer because no one would set a pick for him.

First joke was good, continuing it is poor judgement. Overall I'd give you a B+ for effort.

In a league of rapists, murderers, and crack addicts, a .11 BAC is a big deal?

It's more than 150% the legal limit. Please tell me about a rapist/murderer/crack addict who didn't get national TV exposure.

Drunk driving may not be malicious, but it shows poor judgment and is extremely dangerous.

.11 is 150% of .08?

In any case, I was making a snide comment about how little this matters in terms of JJ's career. No team is suddenly going to worry about him being a liability.

Nope, but NC's limit is 0.07 so it doesn't matter.

From the article linked in the OP:
"Redick had a blood-alcohol level of 0.11. The legal limit for drivers in North Carolina is 0.08."

But either way, the point that RunDownHouse was making is valid. In the NBA or any other of the Big 4 sports leagues this is pretty minor. It's simply a lapse in judgement by a young man. Nothing to get too up in arms about.

I feel bad for him. I mean it's something we have all done. Plus .11 could be like 3-4 beers. If the guy is driving recklessly or speeding when drunk fine. Turning away from an entrapment DUI checkpoint is a horse [censored] way to get busted.

And I can't stand JJ.

Meh, considering .08 is too high to begin with (statistically significant driving impairment begins ~.02), .11 still sucks.

BTW, who's a current crack addict in the NBA? Are you referencing someone in particular? I get the rapist (Kobe) and murder (J Williams)

Re: Nice Job, JJ

This is not a bright move. He should still be a first round pick, but with the NBA and the rank of your draft pick you are guaranteed a certain salary. With the draft only weeks away, this will be a small mark on his record, but that small mark could make him slip down a few draft spots and lose out on some $$$.

Do you remember the part where people can believe what they want even if it's different than what's official?

OJ Simpson served no jail time. However, I still believe he killed people. (I know there was a civil trial too, but you get my point.)

I understand your analogy and I understand why people would think the way they do. But they are very different cases because of the depth of coverage that went into them. Accusing someone of being a rapist or a murderer is very serious. I know people like to make their jokes about it. That is all fine and good for the most part, but after a while I get tired of people being so sure of something they can't really know about.
