The Shiek needs a club in the side of the head.

It turns my stomach watching him.

IT pisses me off that Doyle makes excuses for him. It is ok to call a assmunch an assmunch Doyle.

Watching him definitely made me sick, he was really rude especially to a player like Doyle. The only thing that made it somewhat better was later Doyle said that they were friends so it was all friendly...but still can't believe someone would like act

That's not what I heard. Unless I missed something there, Doyle said that he knew him, and he didn't expect Shieky to do anything but be Shieky. And that, knowing Shieky, he didn't expect anything that he or anyone else said about his behaviour would have any effect.

Doyle is always a gentleman and doesn't come right out and slam people. Unlike Todd, Doyle's put-downs are subtle. I thought that he made it clear that he thought Shieky is an immature jerk, and that he, Doyle, wasn't going to lower himself to that level.

Running your mouth and slamming the cards on the table is OK for a drunken home game where everyone is doing it and the game is more about good times than money. Grown-ups behave themselves in public.

I concur.

Doyle is past his physical prime to shut Sheiky up in that way, and the cards didn't fall for him to do it the other way.

Doyle > Sheiky in all aspects of human life.

And I'll bet Shieky thinks it's really cute.

Im sure Sheiky has a negative expectation in that game. What's a better way to put him in line then putitng up with him till busto? Of course it takes doyle's patience to not to stand up and clock him.

Just watched the interview here on the west coast.

I enjoyed the fact Brunson mentioned that everyone needs there 5 minutes....sorry Sean..you don't even get the normal suckers 15.

You'd think after he watches himself on TV he'd be embarrassed by the way he acts. I mean I couldn't imagine watching myself on TV acting like that. It would be humiliating. Guess he's just a prick at heart though.

I'm surprised Phil has escaped attack thus far. For those who missed it, it was just a blip in today's show. They were doing a little puff piece on Doyle. Short comment from the announcers followed by 10 second sound bites from a number of players. About 6 people said "the Godfather of poker" or "a legend", and Phil H. says, "I see a lot of myself in Doyle."

Thanks for sharing that, Phil.

Be wary of the editing. Phil's expressed his admiration of Doyle before and I'd bet that was left on the cutting room floor this time around.

We all have our various quirks, and I am not a sociology expert, but my life experience tells me he gives a rat's ass about anyone but Sheikhan and family. He doesn't care that I hate his dumb sunglasses, haircut, etc.

So, in a roundabout way, I am saying, hell, yeah, I agree.
He is a tool's tool.

Re: The Shiek needs a club in the side of the head.

A few years ago he was driving at a high speed and was involved in an accident during a thunderstorm in Las Vegas. An elderly woman died in this accident, but he was relatively unscathed. You would think that this experience would humble him a bit and cause him to act with some humility, but judging from his behavior at the poker table the last few years, I guess it hasn't.

Re: The Shiek needs a club in the side of the head.

Todd said it best, 'sheiky's an idiot and he's gonna lose all his money.' He's menatlly unstable and not in a good way like Mike Caro. What i took away from yesterday's show was Doyle's class. How he responded to sheiky is a lesson for me as a player. If you can get beat by a tool like that, take his barbs in stride, get up shake the man's hand and say good game, you possess something more valuable than all the chip stacks in all las vegas, Character, Dignity, and Sportsmanship. Other players would have lost alot more than their chips in that situation. Hat's off to Doyle.

Sheiky is campaigning to be the most irritating, pathetic individual in televised poker history.

Sheiky has been a big donator to the Big Game. Doyle doesn't want to "tap the glass". A good lesson to be learned.

Re: If Sheiky keeps this up, he\'ll replace The Brat

Skeik is bad for the game IMHO at a time when it would be a good idea to not make poker look like a game played by disgusting people. Show some class to the new folks, TV audiance ( and I guess Republicans ). Skeik IMHO looks to me to be a disgusting, illiterate 'gambeling type' of looser. Not a pretty picture. Totally uneducated, crude, rude looser. I feel sorry for the guy. It's sad.

Doyle can certainly take it, also he, Doyle was telling the simple truth about Shawn. If Doyle doesn't get Shawn's money in the cash games, Todd will. Shawn is most likely a nice person that feels out of place and often doesn't know how to act or speak accordingly, very insecure.

How would it look to John Public if he won the thing?

My .02 cents

but because guys like Doyle excuse this behavior, it makes it more likely I will have to put up with it when I play live.

Shieky really looked like he was on drugs or some pathetic TV psycho.

So what's the deal with Sheikhan, beein watching him on NHUPC and Hi stakes poker... he seems to be kind of an idiot. Is he from a rich family or something? How did he make enough to be able to donate in the big game, play in big time poker tournies etc. Something tells me he isn't self-made.

Hmmm, he owns a chain of drug paraphernalia stores. I wonder how one gets started in that sort of enterprise? I don't have any inside information, but one "profession" with a huge ROI suggests itself.

He has been on TV maybe a half dozen times in the last few months (High Stakes Poker and the HU Championship mostly). Pick an episode, and Sheiky was a jerk on it.
