Operating NYC Card Room? PM me
Hey all,
I'm looking for a cardroom in Manhattan that hasn't been shut down. Would be very grateful to anyone who would PM a location/details. Thanks, t |
Re: Operating NYC Card Room? PM me
Sending this info to a first time poster is probably a bad idea.

Re: Operating NYC Card Room? PM me
This comes to mind when I read the OP...
Scene 1 Location: The police chief's office Chief "OK Johnson, your first assignment as a New York rookie cop is to rid this city of it's illegal cards rooms. I don't care how you find them (slam fist on desk), just get out there and do it!" Johnson: "But chief, how do I..." Chief Why the hell are you still here!? |
Re: Operating NYC Card Room? PM me
aren't cops legally bound to follow instructions in stickies at the tops of forums?
edit: oops, people ARE allowed to ask about illegal cardrooms if they want the info PM'd. strange. |
Re: Yeah, I was following the stickie
Okay, well first of all I'm not a cop. I'm also not a forum regular though, so I should explain myself I guess.
I live in Manhattan, and used to play in college but haven't really played outside of casinos since I've been living here. My friend from college came down to visit and we decided it might be fun to go to an underground club. I'd had a a card someone gave me in Vegas, but I guess that club has closed down. I called a couple friends here, and the best info I got was that I could try posting in the B&M forum on 2 + 2 asking for a PM. So I figured out "B&M" was "Bricks and Mortar" and a "PM" was a private message. It occurs to me that this system works best for people who have a history of posting and contributing to the forum--but my friend is only in town for the weekend and I don't have much to contribute (unless you want to hear my bad beat stories?), so I'm kinding of counting on goodwill. I'll see if maybe I can get my buddy who recommended 2 + 2 and presumably has a history on here (he talks about it ALL THE TIME) to post under his name and verify my story. Or if you take me at my word just PM me? |
Re: Operating NYC Card Room? PM me
I'm not a cop, and I'm not sure how much I like the fact that you assume I would be a "Johnson"...but this post did make my laugh. Well done.

Re: Operating NYC Card Room? PM me

Hey,
This guy is legit, as is his story, except for that I mention the forums "ALL THE TIME". If you don't trust him, you can PM the locations to me and I'll email them to him. |

TT,
I wasn't really aware of the desperate state of the games in NY - the first and last time I played in one was January 2005, which sounds like the glory days of NYC underground poker. |

Poker in NYC is never going to die. But unless David Dinkins gets back in office, the days of card rooms run better than AC or Foxwoods appear to be officially dead...
Dinkins for Mayor in '08! |
Re: Operating NYC Card Room? PM me
how about a PM and I'll have Dinkins reinstated

Re: Operating NYC Card Room? PM me
What Club got raided? I just got some info. emailed to me about a "new" club, and I'm wondering if that's the one that got raided.

Re: Operating NYC Card Room? PM me
go down any alley and knock on a back door. when it opens they will say "what do you want?" which is their code asking for the password. you should reply "Your mother is a whore" This is the standard code for all rooms in NYC
