GiantBuddha Marathon Daylight Savings Thread

Inspired by Renton's attempted marathon, 200K FPPs I can't spend until I hit supernova, the new 24 table max, and that guy who died running a marathon this morning, I'm going to play my own marathon session. Not necessarily all in one sitting (I'm not a fan of buckets or bottles), but in one day. One 25 hour day.

If anyone's interested, I'll be accepting prop bets on the following numbers of hands at the following odds:

10K hands I'll lay 8:1
15K hands I'll lay 2:1
20K hands You lay 2:1
25K hands You lay 8:1

All to be played at full ring no limit NL50 (where I'll be full stacking) and NL100 (where I'll be shortstacking).

I'm not a great player, but I do expect to actually win while doing this, and will take prop bets on that (although not on specific win rate) at even money.

I don't drink caffeine or anything like that, although I do have a bottle of B-12 vitamins, lots of eye drops, and a bunch of microwavable enchiladas.

So, I'm off to see Cirque Du Soleil, come home, take a quick nap, and I'll be at the tables at midnight.

P.S. does anyone know if Daylight Savings time jacks up pokertracker?

GL!

Is your SN the same on here as Stars?

The reason I ask is that I might rail you for a little bit while watching the football games tomorrow.

Someone accomplishing 25k hands (at Pokerstars only) in one day would be absolutely immortalized in my book.

I have done 24 hour "sessions" at work and its fairly possible to do.
Some tips -

- Water water water.
- Avoid sugars & salty foods, you will get a rush of energy then crash. Eat something like pasta and take 15 mins to digest it.
- Keep the simpler tasks (i.e. shortstacking) for when your tired.

Just for giggles, I'll bet $10 that you don't even get to 10k hands.

I played mostly live $1-2 and $2-5 in NYC earlier in the year. The clubs kept getting robbed and raided so I switched to mostly online.

Thanks. My $80 to your $10. I'm sure you'll make it back stealing my sleepy blinds rather quick.

Cirque was fun. Time for a quick nap.

Ten is definately easy now.

I put in a little over 4 hours today and have over 5k hands

ill go with 50 on 20k but you have to break even....

losing less than 50=BE

Re: GiantBuddha Marathon Daylight Savings Thread

I've been putting in 5-6 hours the last 3 days of 24 tabling. You'll average about 1200 hands/hr, and that's with some fast tables in there. If you're only playing Pokerstars, I don't believe you'll ever make 25k hands. That would be 18 hours of that abuse. And doing longer than a 3 hours session of 24 tables is gonna make you want to die.

Yeah, no way. So, what do I have to do to make money from that?

Okay. I wanted 2:1 odds on playing 20K hands at all, so I'd like slightly better odds if it includes breaking even, too.

I'll give you my $20 to your $50 or my $50 to your $150.

I actually only have enough monitor space to play 21 at a time, unfortunately. I doubt I'll make 25k, but I'll give it my best shot.

You can bet that I'll come up short, at 8 to 1. Or you can just sit down when I want to die and maybe I'll bleed some chips off to you.

21 tables...you'll never do 25k. I do want to take your money. GL to you.

Re: GiantBuddha Marathon Daylight Savings Thread

Yep. Couple minutes. I'll accept bets up until the conclusion of my first break. Coordi, let me know if you want the $20/$50 or the $50/$150 or neither.

Gonna start with a little shortstacking NL100 right now to get warmed up.

Whoops...I meant I DON'T want to take your money.

2473 hands in 2 hours so far, -$186. Playing meh and running worse. Time for a quick snack/beverage break. Be back in 10 minutes @ 50NL for some deep stacking.

You gotta be on break now? I can't find you to steal blinds

GiantBuddha 11-04-2007 02:06 AM

Re: GiantBuddha Marathon Daylight Savings Thread

Don't worry, I'm coming right back and you can steal my blinds all day long. But don't run any complicated bluffs or anything. I probably won't get it and will just call down.

I appologize in advance if I miss anyone's table chat. I can chat whilst 12 tabling, but not 21 tabling (or even like 15).

Thanks to all the well wishers. Things are turning around luck wise and playing wise. Still, I'd like to be a whole lot better at this game.

Taking another 5 minute break, but only sitting out, not leaving the tables. Played about 2k hands of 50NL. Gonna play another 3k before leaving the tables.
