Fashion Crazes
I saw today, for the first time I can remember, a guy actually sporting a Hitler moustache. Well you know what I mean. It got me thinking how the idea of Hitler is so awful, hge basically killed that particular moustache style.
Can you guys think of any other celebs/famous people that killed a look/fashion? Do you remember any fashion crazes at school/growing up? What did you succumb to, and what was just a step too far for you? picture and anecdotes please. |

Right off hand I can't think of a celebrity who killed a fashion. Here's a fashion trend that's making a comeback and I wish it would go away. I wore Levi's Big Bells in high school. Cheezus, I cringe to even think it now.

When I was 10, I had big afro-like hair, brown bell-bottoms and a wool multicoloured tank-top. I was cool back then... But then the Fonz came on TV, thank God, and everyone realised what actually looked cool.

For dancers it's fine. I love leggings on dancers. But just to wear as a fashion trend I don't like it much.

I've noticed a lot of girls are wearing those ballerina slippers in the past couple years.. I don't remember them being so popular before the last little while.. yay or nay on these?
Something I don't like that seems to be the craze are those uggs made popular by Britney Spears (among others).. like every girl on campus in the winter either had those or those ridculous boots with the fur on them.. it's usually tucked into the jean, I don't like those |

I feel like throwing up every time I see them. And as you mentioned winter on campus is brutal as 90% of the girls are wearing them. At least some have enough sense to not tuck them into their jeans. This was a really good bump Mrs. Utah. I sort of want to just use your post as a model for Halloween costumes for the next 10 years.
I think that The Lounge has done a good job of compiling pretty good "crazes" because most of these items of clothing look really absurd to my eyes. I really hate the "tux tee shirt" the most. |
