Yeah, the IP ban didn't really slow him down. Many of the other accounts used the same IP, but he started switching right away when it was blocked.

I got several earlier before he could get many posts up too.

Registering should remain easy enough for people who want to use the site for the right reasons. We could require that each registration be approved by an admin, but that would be a lot of work.

The other option, which has been discussed a few times, is requiring members to have a certain number of posts before being able to start new threads. I don't believe that wouldn't be the best way to go either, though, as it creates problems for new users who want to post real questions. Plus, it would most likely result in more worthless posts from people trying to reach the requirement for starting new threads.

We have done this in the past to prevent some persistent spam. I'll give it a try, assuming the file can be modified at the moment. If not I'll ask Chuck to unlock it.

i have some morbid resason for wanting to know who grim's dad (the account) is
