Raise it up preflop to 1.25

i think 3-betting is awful in this spot. well not awful, but i prefer flatting.

Why do you think a 3 bet here is awful?

Re: NL10 tptk+nfd: stack off or fold?

why is a 3-bet here good? so you can iso the 2.5bbs that shorty shoved for? i'd rather let the other fish in the pot instead of blowing them off worse.

edited to add: i stacked off here, but was thinking afterward it may have been spew because his range is weighted toward huge made hands here, right?

i would like to hear more responses in regards to preflop, also.

Re: NL10 tptk+nfd: stack off or fold?

If you raised pre would you have been stacked? You probably would have scooped a small pot instead you lost your stack when you gave the SB a nice price to complete.

Re: NL10 tptk+nfd: stack off or fold?

yes, but there is significantly less potential to make money when i 3-bet. you're right though, i would've scoop those 5bbs. hopefully this post doesn't sound condescending, as you may very well be correct.

Re: NL10 tptk+nfd: stack off or fold?

No its not condescing each to their own bro!
Why is their less of a chance of you making money by 3 betting though?
You have a hand and position get some money in that pot, if no one calls so what you take down a small pot and move on.

Re: NL10 tptk+nfd: stack off or fold?

i didn't really feel like i'd get action from worse, but i prob. should have 3bet considering results, lol (sarcasm). i have yet to hear anyone on my side of the argument, so i guess 3betting is the play.

First of all, AQ is a hand that plays poorly multiway. You're definitely flat call with 55 or T9s because these play best multiway. While the AQ is suited, it's still better to take the value now, by getting some money in preflop.

Re: NL10 tptk+nfd: stack off or fold?

AQ suited?...i at least make it 5-6 bbs pre-flop especially when the earlier raiser was all in for 2.5 bbs......ignore him...you still have a limper ahead of him and position on the entire table...build the pot and hope to catch a piece pre-flop...at the worse, you win 5 bbs..
