Pokerstars: VPP per hand

I know this has been asked before, but searching is difficult as loads of threads have been made that have all the key words but don't answer the question. Also, if it hasn't been done since the games changed due to the new law it's a good time to go over it.

I'm wondering what the rate of VPP per hand is at the various stakes. If just a few people post for each limit, we should have them all pretty quickly. It doesn't take a very large sample at all for this to converge, a few thousand hands should do. It will vary person to person, but probably only a bit.

Here is the breakdown from Pokerstars site:
First Frequent Player Point (FPP) is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches:

* $0.40 for fixed limit poker games with stakes $1/$2 and lower
* $0.40 for NL/PL poker games with blinds $1/$2 and lower
* $1.00 for all other games

Second FPP is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches:

* $2.00 for all 6-max tables (this doesn't apply for games being played 6- handed at 10/9/8 player tables - just 6-max tables)
* $3.00 for all other tables

Third FPP is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches $5.00.

To find this in Pokertracker, after filtering so you only have a given limit (and full or 6 max), in the upper right corner it says "Only show hands with at least [ ] rake." Enter 2.00 if you play 6 max and 3 if you play full, then click filter and get all. Remember the number of games displayed displayed. If you play limit 1/2 or lower or NL 1/2 blinds or lower, enter .40 into the filter and redo it, otherwise enter 1.00. Again click filter and get all. Add the number of games displayed to the number you got before and divide by the total number of games.

Starting in mid december, I have played 5,385 hands of NL50 (blinds .25/.5). I earned .257 VPP per hand over that stretch.

Any others, including repeating the same limit, that people want to post would be appreciated.

I must be retarded, but I cant find the filter. Is it at the summary tab in pokertracker?

Sorry, it's "Game Notes". You get only one limit by filtering in preferences.

.235 VPP per hand at .25/.50 NL 6 max over 5.8K hands. Seems low to me given that I was on monkey tilt and possibly insane monkey tilt for about 1/3 of these hands. You would think that would bloat the pots...

Hopefully some people will post 6 max $1 NL I'm curious.

3/6 NL 6-max: .784 vpp/hand (34k hands)

Couldn't someone with a large observed database form a query to do this quickly and more accurately for all levels?

I filtered this to only include tables with 8 or more players.
Small sample size on the NL (483 hands), but I'd guess it converges quickly. Interesting to see the plateau that happens at 15/30 LHE. Anyone figured up where the plateau happens in NL?

5/10 NL Fullring: 1.02VPP/hand (n=483 hands)

5/10 Limit Full : 1.08VPP/hand (n=7356 hands)
10/20 Limit Full: 1.36VPP/hand (n=4044 hands)
15/30 Limit Full: 1.51VPP/hand (n=7209 hands)
30/60 Limit Full: 1.49VPP/hand (n=9284 hands)

Re: Pokerstars: VPP per hand

Nobody's mentioned them yet, but the pots are generally larger in split pot games and VPPs seem to accrue faster in these games, especially at the smaller stakes. I don't use pokertracker so I don't have exact numbers but I'd say someone who multitables small stakes LO8 or Stud 8 will end up with significantly more VPPs than someone who plays the same number of tables of LHE.

I'm pretty sure my calculations awhile back for $5/10 NL and $10/20 NL were almost identical, maybe even with $5/10 NL being slightly ahead. I'd have to dig through my old db because I've dropped limits for the time being...

Re: Pokerstars: VPP per hand

I suck at VPPs.

Since 1/1/07 @ 200NL (full ring):
8653 VPP in 17,513 hands = .495 VPP/hand.

I checked the same parameters for the last 4 months of 2006, (when I didn't play much of this game on Stars):

9/01/2006 - 12/31/2006 @ 200NL (full ring):
8512 VPP in 14,797 hands = .575 VPP/hand

How can there be this big a difference?

Re: Pokerstars: VPP per hand

I'll throw in my two cents here for the seven card games:

7 Card Stud Hi:
1/2 = .434
2/4 = .435
*interesting*

7 Card Stud Hi/Lo:
1/2 = .507
2/4 = .576

Razz: *small sample but to just give an idea*
1/2 = .278 (1400 hands)
2/4 = .303 (1200 hands)
